  Garvey, Robert J. " Buzz"Robert J. Garvey "Buzz," Freedom, age 79, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug ust 31, 2006, at his cottage at Lee Lake. He was born June, 15, 1927, to t he late Patrick and Margaret (Murphy) Garvey in Oneida, WI. He married t he former Grace Biese on June 15, 1949, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in K aukauna. Buzz worked as a dairy farmer from 1949 until 1976 in Freedo m. He and Grace owned and operated Buzz's Bowl in Freedom from 1971 unt il they sold it in 1986. Buzz was on the Freedom School Board from 1970-19 76 and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 8061. He en joyed time with family and friends at the Cottage, sheephead with the Tues day afternoon card club, golf with the Kelly Lake Mulligan Crew, numero us Canadian fishing trips and bowling over the years with his many frien ds with his Holstein ball. Buzz touched many people over the years and h is significant contribution as an organ donor will assure that his generos ity will increase the strength, mobility and independence of many peoplHe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace Garvey of Freedom; their ni ne children, 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Al (Joyce) Garv ey of Freedom and their two children, Jodi (Greg) Hofacker and their thr ee children: Collin, Caden and Carson, and Jennifer (Todd) Greiner and the ir two children, Sage and Gavin; Lee (Linda) Garvey of Freedom and their t hree children: Gina (Jason) Rose and their two children, Kaylie and Kirste n, Nate Garvey and Katie (special friend, Mike Dercks) Garvey; Bob (Kare n) Garvey of Townsend, WI, and their three children: Bobbi (Rod) Van Eper en and their son, Owen, Karly (special friend Ben Ploederl) Garvey and Bri ttany Garvey; Dave (Joanna) Garvey of Hiram, Georgia and their two childre n, Alyssa and Samantha; Cheryl (Gary) Hooyman of Shiocton and their thr ee children: Trisha (Chad) Reader and their two children, Trevor and Alexi a, Tami Hooyman and Scott Hooyman; Jeff and Sue Garvey of Freedom and the ir three children: Craig, Briana and Kalyn; Peggy (Bill) Gonnering of Free dom and their three children: Adam (special friend Amber Van Handel) Gonne ring, Megan (special friend Nick Van Handel) Gonnering and Travis Gonnerin g; Laurie (Jay) Vande Wettering of Freedom and their two children, Angie ( Ryan) Polenz and Kyle (special friend Ashley Van Vreede) Vande Wetterin g; and Patrick (fiance Beth Kreischer) Garvey and children: Chloe Garve y, Desiree and Shawn Kreischer. He is further survived by four sisters-in- law: Florence Garvey, Rosemary Garvey, Linda Garvey and Dorothy Biese; bro ther and sister-in-law, Bob (Gretchen) Biese; two Godchildren, Tim Garv ey and Dan Biese; and many friends, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Hen ry (Matilda) Biese, brothers: Mike Garvey, Bill Garvey and Jim Garvey, sis ter and brother-in-law, Irene (Orville) Appleton and additional brother a nd sisters-in-law, Melvin Biese, Beatrice Van Epern, Therese (Eugene) V an Deurzen and Rosemary (Jack) Mulry.The Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 200 6, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom, with Fr. John Schuetze offici ating. Friends will be received on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a par ish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fie ldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, and again on Tuesday at Church from 11 a.m. unt il the time of service. Entombment will take place at Appleton's Highla nd Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
