  Gerald J. Thiel, of Kaukauna, age 76, died Sunday, January 20, 2008. He was born August 8, 1931, in St. John, WI, son of the late George and Gladys (O'Donald) Thiel. He married Joy (Alger) Thiel on February 13, 1964. Jerry was a graduate of Hilbert High School. He owned and operated Jerry's Lanes (MR. T's) in Kimberly for 32 years, worked for Miller Electric for eight years, and then was a janitor for Holy Angels in Darboy. He also enjoyed bartending at the Darboy Club for many years. Jerry was a charter member of the Kimberly Kiwanis and Cardinal Youth Program for many years. He enjoyed watching the Packers, working on wood projects and visiting with all his friends at Jerry Kamps. He is survived by his wife, Joy; three sons and three daughters: Tom Thiel, Darboy; Peggy Moehn, Stockbridge; Debbie (Gary) Zahringer, Stockbridge; Jan (Romy) Kappus, Stockbridge; Gary (Annette) Thiel, Menasha; and Chris (Edith) Thiel, Arizona; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Thiel; and in-laws, George and Gladys Alger. Jerry's Memorial Service will be 5 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
