    Obituary:
    Fassbender, Bernard William "Butch" Hollandtown Age 90, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2003 at Rennes Health Center, fo llowing a long illness resulting from a massive stroke in 1998. He was bo rn December 8, 1912 in Hollandtown, Wisconsin son of the late Henry and I da (Schultz) Fassbender. Butch married Marie Campbell on May 7, 1946 in Hi lbert, Wisconsin.
    Butch a lifelong resident of Hollandtown, took over the running of his fat her's cheese factory, White Clover Dairy at the age of 22, and presided ov er its development and growth for the next 58 years. Butch was also the fo under of Holland Veal Inc., starting this new venture in 1977. He was ve ry involved in Wisconsin's dairy industry, and also served as a Direct or of the Whey Products Institute. The community of Hollandtown was import ant to him, and he was a member of the Hollandtown Volunteer Fire Departme nt, and President of the Hollandtown Sanitary District. A lifelong memb er of St. Francis Parish, he served on the St. Francis Building Committe e, and was instrumental in raising the funds for the development of the Ho llandtown Community Park. Butch was also a Director at the Forest Junction /F&M Bank. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, having no gr eater joy than spoiling his grandchildren, as well as a loyal friend to ma ny. Throughout his whole life as he was working the long hours to make Whi te Clover what it is today, he never forgot the importance of his church a nd community, and the love of his family.
    He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Marie; his sons: Richard (Bonni e) Fassbender, Hollandtown; Gary (Susan) Fassbender, Appleton; and Dani el (Wende) Fassbender, Hollandtown; a sister: Mildred Gerharz, Kaukauna; a nd sisters-in-law: Stella Fassbender, Kaukauna; Dolores Fassbender, La nd O' Lakes; and a brother-in-law: Victor Busse, Hollandtown. He is furth er survived by nine grandchildren: Richard (Jill) Fassbender, Seymour; Kev in Fassbender, Kaukauna; Jay Fassbender, Hollandtown; Michael (Elena) Fass bender, Kaukauna; Kimberly Fassbender, Hollandtown, Kathryne and Bryan Fas sbender, Appleton; Amanda and Jennifer Fassbender, Hollandtown, and gre at granddaughter: Tatjana Fassbender, Kaukauna. Butch is further surviv ed by a brother-in-law: Arthur (Inie) Campbell and Leo (Angie) Campbell a nd many nieces and nephews.
    Butch was preceded in death by a son: Dennis; and siblings: Harold (Mar y) Fassbender, Lorraine (Elmer) Vandenberg, Norbert Fassbender, brothers-i n-law: LeRoy Gerharz, Hubert Fassbender, Ann (Syd) Derry and Rosemary Buss e.
    The funeral liturgy for Butch will be held on Saturday, October 18, 20 03 at 10:00 AM at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Hollandtown, with Fr. Jim L ucas officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may ca ll at the funeral home on Friday (TODAY) from 4:00-8:00 PM and again Satur day, directly at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.
    The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Rennes Hea lth Center for their dedicated care of Butch.

    Mildred Elizabeth (Fassbender) Gerharz, 93, passed away at St. Paul Home on Thursday, May 7, 2009. She was born in Hollandtown on Oct. 5, 1914, the daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Schultz) Fassbender. On Oct. 5, 1933, Hunce married her loving husband, Lee Gerharz, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. He preceded her in death in 1978. Hunce was a loving mother and devoted homemaker. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Hunce also enjoyed going up north to their cabin in Lakewood.
    Hunce will be sadly missed by her children, Jim Gerharz, Anchorage, Alaska; Jerry (Ruth) Gerharz, Racine; Carol (Bill) Simon, Lindale, Texas; Susan (David) Schwartzbauer, Neenah; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Stella Fassbender and Marie Fassbender.
    Hunce is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Gerharz; granddaughter, Lynn Marie Gerharz; four brothers, three sisters; and daughter-in-law, Bernice "Bunnie" Gerharz.

    Evelyn Martha Dobberstein, 92, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Century Oaks in Oshkosh surrounded by her family.
    She was born on July 25, 1921 in Dale, Wisconsin to Owen and Emma Peterson. Evelyn was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale and graduated from Appleton High School in 1939. She married Hugo Dobberstein, the love of her life on April 22, 1941. She was a devoted, loving wife and the catalyst for Hugo's recovery from serious injuries sustained during WWII. He preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage in June 2007.
    They were blessed with four daughters. Evelyn leaves behind nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and her sister, Dorothy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Her great granddaughter Stella Grace, her parents and many dear relatives preceded her to eternal life. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton for many years. She loved little children and babies. She enjoyed watching the Brewers, playing cards, traveling, and Kitty, her constant feline companion.
    The Christian Funeral for Evelyn was held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at ETERNAL LOVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1011 E. Midway Rd., Appleton with Rev Robert Balza officiating. Intermentwas at Dale Union Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
    A special thank you to Pastor David Pagel, Century Oaks in Oshkosh, and Heartland Hospice. The daughters wish to acknowledge the tender loving care she received from Jen, Deb, Sabrina, Becky, and special friend Janet.     Donna was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, selfless mother and cherished grandmother. Her life was blessed with wonderful friends and family.

    Obituary:
    Ken "Gebo" Fassbender, age 80 of Hollandtown, passed away after a brief stay at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Ken was born in Appleton on November 1, 1935, son of the late Norbert and Stella (Geyso) Fassbender. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, and as a young man began driving truck for White Clover Dairy. Later, he created and worked at Fassbender Brothers Refrigeration with his brother Dave. Eventually, he went back to work at White Clover until his retirement in 2002. On September 10, 1959, Ken married the former Mary Ver Bockel in Hollandtown. Together the family raised six children and spent fifty-six happy years together. Many will remember Ken as one of the founders of the Hollandtown Raiders sports teams, along with Harland Eiting and Butch Vande Yacht, they coached boys in both baseball and football. He was also instrumental in the origination of the Hollandtown Community Park, and was a member of the Hollandtown Volunteer Fire Department from 1957 until 1968. Important to note is that Ken also served his country as a member of the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1961.
    He is survived by his wife: Mary Fassbender of Hollandtown; six loving children: Keith (Lisa) Fassbender of Kaukauna; Karen (Chris) Boreson of Hollandtown; Robert (Linda) Fassbender of Dundas; Cindy (Adam) Noonan of Kaukauna; Kay (Don) Wittman of Kaukauna; and Sally (Dave) Kenney; fifteen grandchildren: Megan (Chris) Bayorgeon, Melissa Fassbender, Kyle (Amy) Fassbender, Dustin Fassbender, Haley Boreson, Tanner Boreson, Adam (Kelly) Fassbender, Connor Fassbender, Derrick Huss, Dominick Quella, Breanna Quella, Erik Noonan, Emily Noonan, Tyler Kenney, and Mariah Kenney; three great-grandchildren: Quintin and Collyn Bayorgeon and Alera Fassbender. Ken is also survived by his siblings: Delores (Jim) Dillon of Racine, Dave Fassbender of Kaukauna, Jack Fassbender of Arizona, Paul (Gayle) Fassbender of Hollandtown, and Jim (Kim) Fassbender of New London; and a sister-in-law: Marie Fassbender of Green Bay.     Mary Gerharz, age 72, of Kaukauna, died peacefully at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Mary was born in Appleton on April 22, 1936, daughter of the late Leroy Gerharz and Mildred "Hunce" (Fassbender) Gerharz who also lives at St. Paul Home. For nearly fifty years Mary worked at White Clover Dairy in Hollandtown. She enjoyed knitting, and watching the activity at the marina on Lake Winnebago.
    In addition to her mother Hunce, Mary is survived by four brothers and sisters: James Gerharz of Anchorage, Alaska; Jerome (Ruth) Gerharz of Florida; Carol (Bill) Simon of Lindale, Texas; and Susan (David) Schwartzbauer of Neenah. There are also fourteen nieces and nephews.
    Mary was preceded in death by her father Leroy, a sister-in-law Bernice Gerharz, and a niece Lynn Marie Gerharz.
    The funeral liturgy for Mary will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. AL'S SITE, 2401 Main Avenue in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
