Obituary:
Nicholas Adrian died at his home in Appleton, Wis. on Thursday afternoon April 3, 1919, as a result of a stroke of paralysis, which he suffered on the preceding Sunday. He had been in poor health for about six years.
Mr. Adrian was born in Freedom, Outagamie Co., Wis. 63 years ago and was one of that community's most respected citizens. He had been in the mercantile business many years and was noted for his good business ability and square dealing. Mr. Adrian also held different public offices and in 1900 was elected country clerk, and performed the duties of the office to the best of satisfaction and a credit to himself. During the past twenty years he has made his home in Appleton, where he made many friends who will miss him. He was quite well acquainted here (Colby, Wis.), having made many visits to his mother and brother and sisters.
He leaves to mourn his death, besides his wife and eight children, his mother, Mrs. R. Shortell, a brother, Peter Adrian, and sister, Mrs. H. B. Eder, all of Colby, and two other sisters, Mrs. Charles Ristau of Kaukauna and Mrs. Julius Wolf of Ashland, Oregon, all of who were present at the funeral except Mrs. Wolf.
The funeral was held last Monday at 9 o'clock from the Catholic Church at Appleton and he was laid to rest in the cemetery in that city.

John P. Conlon 711 Lawe St., Kaukauna Age 82, passed away at 8 p.m. Wednesday after a long illness. He was born September 3, 1879 in Freedom and lived in Kaukauna most of his life. He worked 41 years as a stationary engineer at the Combined Locks Paper Co., retiring in 1954. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulfide and Papermill workers. Mr. Conlon is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Martin Janssen, Mrs. Leon Van Lieshout, Miss Ruth Conlon, all of Kaukauna; Mrs. Joseph Staszewski, Crystal Lake, Illinois; three sons, John W. and Jerry, both of Kaukauna; Gene, Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Al Siebenaller, Mrs. R. J. Siebenaller, both of Detroit, Mich.; 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, Kaukauna, with burial in the parish cemetery. Mrs. M. Hardy Dies Suddenly At Rochester WRIGHTSTOWN-- Mrs. Maurice Hardy, 62, Wrightstown, died Monday night at 10:10 at Rochester, Minn. She submitted to surgery Sunday. She was born Dec. 7, 1890, in Kaukauna, lived in Neshkoro about two years, and moved to Wrightstown in 1920. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church, Wrightstown, and belonged to the Christian Mothers Society of that church. He was born May 26, 1912 in Stephensville, s on of John and Anna (Van Dyke) Adrian. He was a graduate of Appleton Hi gh School and the Illinois College of Podiatry and Foot Surgery in 1933. D oc married Mary Van Dyck, August 1, 1936, at St. Therese Catholic Churc h, Appleton, and she preceded him in death June 2, 2005. Dr. Adrian w as a practicing Podiatrist in Fond du Lac for 50 years prior to his retire ment in 1983. He was a former member of the Fond du Lac Elks Lodge, the Kn ights of Columbus 4th degree, Fond du Lac, and past navigator, past presid ent of the Noon Lions Club and charter member and past president of the Ba rber Shop Singing Chapter of Fond du Lac and also a member of the Lion Tam ers Quartette. Alan Adrian Ph.D, 92, died Friday, March 28, 2008. He was born Feb. 13, 1916, in Kaukauna, son of John and Anna (Van Dyke) Adrian. Alan married Verna LaPlante Dec. 31, 1942, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage together. Mr. Adrian was a member of St. Mary Parish, Appleton. After graduating from Lawrence University with a B.A. in chemistry, Alan received a Masters and Ph.D from the Institute of Paper Chemistry. He devoted his career to Neenah Paper Company as Technical Director, and later as Operations and Development manager of the Neenah paper division of Kimberly-Clark. Alan was on the Board of Directors of the Neenah Paper Company prior to Kimberly-Clark's acquisition, and was proud to continue in that capacity. Alan and Verna have been longtime members of Ridgeway Country Club as well as the Appleton Curling Club. He enjoyed golfing, curling, swimming and happy times at the family cottage on Waubee Lake. Alan was a member and had been president of the Neenah- Menasha Kiwanis Club and a member of the Appleton Golden K Kiwanis Club. He was a Faithful Navigator, and current member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Allouez Assembly #1199, along with past president and current member of Lakeside Tappi. A past member of the Neenah-Menasha Elks Lodge #676, he also served as a member of the Neenah Vocational School Board of Directors. Alan and Verna's retirement years were spent volunteering as red coats at Theda Clark Medical Center and as members of the RSVP tutoring program. Additionally, they enjoyed traveling. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Verna; two wonderful daughters, Patti Schmidtke and Judi (Fred) Stadler; granddaughters, Jami (Charles) Kilpatrick, Colleen (Peder) Conley-Lindberg, and Kathlyn (John) Albert; grandsons, G.P. (Katie) Schmidtke, Neal (Tanti) Conley, and Michael Stadler; three great-grandchildren and a great-grandson soon to be born, Alexandra Kilpatrick, Jackson Schmidtke and Lilia Lindberg.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Mary Parish, 312 S. State Street, Appleton, with Fr. Michael O'Rourke officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass.

Richard Conlon, 32, Detroit, Mich., and former Kaukauna resident, died at 8 o'clock last night at Pontiac, Mich., of injuries suffered in a traffic accident on Oct. 12. The accident occurred as Conlon was returning to Detroit from Lansing, Mich., where he had attended a football game.
Born in Kaukauna in 1908, he attended Kaukauna High school. He lived at Detroit the last 12 years.

Second Lieutenant John W. Lindstrom, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lindstrom, Kaukauna, has been missing in action over Yugoslavia since April 5, according to a telegram received by his parents Saturday. On a recent bomber escort mission approximately 40 fighters were encountered in the target area. He had his hydraulic system shot out, but he managed to down three German fighter planes that were after the bombers. He was a member of the P-38 Lightning group.

Jerome V. Hardy Funeral services for Jerome V. Hardy, 44, of 2320 S. 17th St., killed the past Friday night when his semi-trailer truck overturned during a storm in Waushara County, were held Tuesday morning at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, following brief family rites at the Ramm Funeral Home. Celebrant of the requiem mass was the Rev. Robert M. Hoeller, pastor. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers, all fellow ushers of Mr. Hardy at St. Peter Claver, included Louis Stieber, Walter Brotz, Wilbur Pantel, Sylvester Grott, Eugene Trester and William Ziegler. Monday evening vigils were held at the funeral home by members of the Holy Name Society and Ushers Club, with Father Hoeller leading the prayers. Earlier in the day the rosary was recited by Boy Scouts, altar boys and other children of the parish, with the Rev. Joseph M. Wanner, curate, and Sisters of St. Agnes leading the prayers.

Gerend, Kathryn A. (Neuman)
Kathryn A. Gerend, age 85, a Manitowoc resident, died Sunday afternoon, October 1, 2006, at Harbor House, Manitowoc. She was born December 17, 1920, in Wrightstown, daughter of the late Maurice and Alma (Ristau) Hardy. Kathryn was a graduate of Wrightstown High School, Class of 1939. She married Thomas Neuman on June 28, 1941, in Wrightstown.
He preceded her in death in 1970. Kathryn then married Herbert Gerend on March 27, 1993, in Appleton. Kathryn assisted as a bookkeeper with the family owned service station for many years. She was a swimming instructor with the YMCA and was employed with Lawrence University as a secretary to the Dean.
Kathryn was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers of Appleton and a member of St. Francis of Assisi, Manitowoc. Her interests include competitive ballroom dancing, singing, fishing, down hill and cross country skiing. She was a member of the Toastmistress Club, Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader and was an avid high school basketball and Packer fan.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert "Hub" Gerend, Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Alison (Candy) and Mark Christenson, Manitowoc; four sons and daughters-in-law: Paul Neuman, Brussels; Mike and LaVonne Neuman, Madison; Patrick and Judy Neuman, Minnesota; and Thomas Neuman, Minnesota.
Also surviving are five step children: Susan (Tom) Buxton; JoAnn (John) Reichwald; Mike (Susan) Gerend; William (Ann) Gerend; David (Cindy) Gerend; ten grandchildren: Troy, Tracy and Lucas Christenson; Sara McLoed and her husband, Jason; Liz Neuman; Dan (Tammy), Nick and Tim Neuman; Julie and Emmy Neuman; one great-grand-daughter, Abby; and eight step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers: Charles, William, Jerome, Eugene, Thomas and Maurice.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (South 14th & Grand Avenue), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be the Rev. Jim Vanden Hogen. Cremation has occurred with burial of the cremated remains at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton, at a later date. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Kathryn's Name.
Kathryn will be remembered for her kindness to everyone, a sense of humor and her beautiful voice.

Thomas E. Hardy "Tom" 300 E. 19th St., Kaukauna Age 69, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 31, 1997 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born July 13, 1927 in Wrightstown, son of the late Maurice and Alma (Ristau) Hardy. Tom served his country in World War II, having served under Gen. MacArthur's Honor Guard from 1945 to 1947. He was employed at Kimberly-Clark (Midtec) for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 1988. Tom was a drummer in LeRoy's Dutch Boys Orchestra from 1948 to 1975 and had played in the Rhythm Kings and the Little Chute Band from 1960 to 1966. He was also the Little Chute Drum and Bugle Corps instructor from 1960 to 1966. He loved traveling, hunting and was known as a "Mr. Fix-it." He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Kimberly-Clark Quarter Century Club. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Connie (Schommer), Kaukauna; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy Milquet of Crivitz and Lori (Brian) Mattison of Kimberly; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy (fiancee Kim Schmitt) of Kaukauna, Steve (Brenda) of Appleton and Jerry (Michelle) of Crivitz; 10 grandchildren, Jesse and Tyler Milquet; Nicole and Rachelle Mattison; Trisha Hardy; Kristine, Bonnie and Michael Hardy, and Jeremy and Jordan Hardy; one sister, Katherine ("Hub") Gerend, Kaukauna, numerous nieces and nephews. Maurice J. Hardy, 60, 1024 S. Erie St., De Pere, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 1988 at a local hospital. The son of the late Maurice E. and Alma (Ristau) Hardy was born July 13, 1927 in Wrightstown. He had served in the Armed Services from 1949 to 1952 in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hardy and the former Audrey Pahl were married Feb. 20, 1954 in Green Bay. He had worked at Paper Converting for 13 years; had owned and operated a resort in Crivitz for 15 years, retiring three years ago; and was managing an apartment complex in De Pere for the last three years. He was a member of the American Legions of Loomis, a former member of the Ashwaubenon Fire Department, and a member of the Retired Ashwaubenon Fire Department. He was also a member of St. Mary Church Education Committee, De Pere, and a member of the De Pere Community Band. Obituary:
Molitor, Donna M. 73, of Sheboygan passed away on July 14, 2012 at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Donna was born on August 31, 1938, when her family lived in Wrightstown. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Hardy, stepfather, Adolf Fale, and mother, Loraine (Hardy) Fale.
Donna graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. Her love of music inspired her to play in her high school band, and sing in the church choir. Donna's years of knitting and crocheting produced personalized Christmas stockings, afghans, sweaters, and mittens. Newborn babies sported caps and booties which were lovingly created by Donna. Donna touched the hearts of many through her roles as mother, sister, friend, and volunteer.
Donna was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
Donna is survived by her four sons, Jerome (Linda) Molitor of Belgium, Kenneth (Lori) Molitor of Sheboygan, Peter Molitor of Sheboygan and Joseph (Mary-Beth) Molitor of Kiel; eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter: Jennifer (Nicholas) Whitford and their daughter, Eowyn of Sheboygan, Paul (Laura) Molitor of Fredonia, Pasha Molitor, Serjey Molitor, Matthew Molitor and Morgan Molitor all of Sheboygan, Marissa Molitor and Benjamin Molitor both of Kiel. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Joann (August) Schmidt of Sheboygan, Thomas (Betty) Hardy of Cleveland, Richard (Terese) Hardy of West Bend, and Mary (Robert) Conto of Sheboygan, and other stepbrothers and stepsisters.
A Memorial Mass for Donna will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Cerpich as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
