Obituary:
Joan Casperson, age 77, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1933, in Appleton, daughter of the late Emmet and Mary (Rotzenberg) Kavanaugh. Joan attended St. Mary's Grade School and was a 1951 graduate of Kaukauna High School. She worked at Home Mutual and many years at Giddings & Lewis in Kaukauna. Joan enjoyed summer vacations at her cottage in Door County. She loved all sports especially the Packers and Badgers.
She is survived by her brother, Ken Kavanaugh; Goddaughter and niece, Heather Kavanaugh; sister-in-law, Shirley Kavanaugh; nieces: Dawn Blixt and Brenda Kavanaugh; Godson and nephew, Shawn (Lois) Kavanaugh, and other cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Patrick Kavanaugh and sister-in-law, Jill Kavanaugh.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. MARY SITE, 119 West Seventh St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Msgr. Mark Schommer concelebrating the mass. Friends will be received directly at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Kaukauna Catholic School System is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.
The family would like to thank the response team from Kaukauna, the ICU Staff from Theda Clark, especially Dr. Novak, and nurse Lori Rasin and Father Richard Allen.
