    Kaukauna - William N. Nytes, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Nytes. Hollandtown, died at 1:30 Sunday morning: at the home of his sister, Mrs
    William Teenessen, following an illness of two weeks. He was a student at St. Norbert college DePere and was to have graduted this spring.
    Decedent is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Nytes two brothers, Frank and Bernard Nytes, Hollandtown; two sisters. Josephine, Hollandtown

    Nytes, William F. "Bill", Age 76 of Kaukauna, passed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. Bill was born on November 25, 1933 to the late Frank and Edith Nytes. He graduated from Kaukauna High School and then served in the Army from 1952 - 1954. Bill was a floor mechanic until retirement. His passion was fishing and hunting. He was given the title "The Legend" by his fishing buddies. Canada was Bill's favorite.
    Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years: Marlene; a daughter: Marsha Nytes (friend, Beth) of Bear Creek and four sons: Tony (Gina) Nytes, Kaukauna; Andy (Christine) Nytes, Oregon, Wisconsin; Frank (Kelly) Nytes, Darboy, and Sam (Kristin) Nytes of Cascade, Wisconsin; and twelve "precious" grandchildren: Billy, Elliott, Trent, Kaylie, Lindsey, Kayla, Frankie, Stephanie, Kaitlyn, Gwen, Samuel Jack, and Jeb; a brother: Tom (Eileen) Nytes, Auberndale, Florida; two sisters-in-law: Mary Vetta, Milwaukee and Bonnie Fisch, Appleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by twin daughters at birth; a sister-in-law: Betty Fisch and two brothers-in-law: James Fisch and Mario Vetta.
    A Memorial Mass for Bill will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH, ST. FRANCIS SITE, 453 County Trunk CE, Hollandtown with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until the time of mass. Inurnment will be held at Highland Memorial Park.

    LaVerne Marie (Nytes) Stahl entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 3, 2017. She was born in Appleton, WI on February 29, 1928, to the late Bernard and Lucy (Stemper) Nytes. Following graduation from Kaukauna High School with the class of 1947, LaVerne was employed at Fox River Paper Corporation until her marriage.
    On June 20, 1953, LaVerne was united in marriage to the late Walter (Wally) A. Stahl at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kaukauna. LaVerne was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed reading, fashion, sewing and gathering with friends for countless games of Bridge. She was a great cook, preparing fabulous meals and deserts for family and friends. LaVerne will long be remembered as an amazing story teller.
    Laverne was a "people person" and found friends wherever she lived including Appleton, Winneconne, Menasha, and most recently Kimberly. She and Wally were "snowbirds" beginning in 1997, living in Bradenton, FL during the winter months.
    LaVerne is survived by a son, James (Susan) Stahl, of Winneconne, WI and a daughter, Susan (Howard) Longin of Weston, FL; grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Stahl, Nathan Stahl, Hannah Stahl, Jonathan Stahl, Michael (Tracey) Longin and Jennifer (Joshua) Parish. There are six grandsons: Gabriel, Jonah, Micah, Benjamin and Tobias Stahl and Tejay Longin. She is further survived by a brother, Gerald B. (Catherine) Nytes of Menasha, WI and sister-in-law, Nanitte Grote of Middleton, WI along with nephews and many, many friends.
    The family is grateful for the compassionate care that she received from the staff and caregivers at both Oakridge Gardens of Menasha and St. Elizabeth Hospital of Appleton. Special thanks are extended to the nurses Mounia at Oakridge Gardens and Cheryl at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
    LaVerne Marie (Nytes) Stahl entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street in Combined Locks. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Menasha at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in LaVerne's name. Online condolences can be made at www.wichmannfargo.com. A full obituary will be published in Sunday's paper.

    John R. Parker, age 81, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Brewster Village in Appleton following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. John was born April 11, 1930 to the late Rowley and Josephine (Nytes) Parker. On June 5, 1953, he was united in marriage to Hazel Laux. John had a long, honorable career as a police officer with the Appleton Police Department, retiring as a lieutenant. In 1988, he was named Outstanding Police Officer of the Year. Survivors include his wife Hazel; three sons: Michael, Appleton; Patrick (Debbie), Grand Chute; Gregory (Kari), Shawano; two brothers: Robert (Margaret), Appleton; Richard (Pam), Hubertus; one sister: Leila Becher, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Dorothy "Wren" Laux, Clintonville; Virginia (Richard) Allen, Bonner Springs, KS; Patricia (Wayne) Struchtemeyer, Olathe; KS; brother-in-law: Donald Laux, Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Sarah Parker, Jessica Parker, Christopher and Courtney Parker; Great-grandson, Cashton; very special friend of the family: Debra Parker and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents Rawley and Josephine Parker; brothers-in-law: Michael Laux, Kenneth Laux, Milton Laux, Ralph Langley and Joseph Becher; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Laux, Mildred Langley, and grandson Thomas John Parker. Private family services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Brewster Village Chapel (3300 W. Brewster St, Appleton) with Pastor Philip Bridges officiating. Friends will be received at the chapel on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. A memoriam fund is being established for Compassion International. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to everyone at Brewster Village for the love, care and compassion they offered to John and his family.

    Age 49. Born on August 7, 1963 to Joseph (deceased) and Leila (Lee) Becher. He passed away on August 4th while hiking in the Cascades suffering a fatal heart attack. He spent his working years with the U.S. Forestry and the Oregon Dept. of Fish & Wildlife. He is survived by his mother, sisters: Mary Jo Isely (John) and Margaret Gompper; niece: Kate Isely; nephews: Patrick Isely and Matthew Gompper plus aunts, uncles and cousins.
    According to his wishes, funeral and burial services were held in Roseburg. A memorial has been established to the ODFW, Oregon Dept. of Fish & Wildlife.
    "Nature was his church where he found God, his Lord and Savior."
