    Obituary:
Newton, Marie P. (Lessor) Marie Newton, 56, Appleton, formerly of Little Chute, died Monday, January 19, 2009, after a battle with cancer. She was born in Danvers, MA, on November 10, 1952, to the late Warren and Margaret Lessor. While she was very young, she and her family then moved to Little Chute, where she grew up. She married her best friend, Pete, on August, 22, 1998. They both loved going up north to their place in Pembine, going to Octoberfest every year, and arguing about who was a better football team, Marie's Packers or Pete's Vikings.
Marie loved working with children of all ages. She spent many years working at the Appleton Emergency Shelter running a children's program and currently was employed with the Appleton School District as a Paraprofessional with special-needs children. But, what she really loved was spending time with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and she was always bragging about them, showing off pictures and displaying their artwork all over her home.
Marie is survived by her husband of 10 years, Pete; three sons: Mike (Tricia) Vissers, Kaukauna; Greg (Tammy) Vissers, Little Chute; Dennis Strong II, Little Chute; a daughter, Diana Strong, Appleton; a step-son, Nick Newton, Green Bay; two step-daughters: Kristie Gustin, Waupaca; Kelly Newton, Neenah; nine grandchildren: Nick Morella, Alissa Vissers, Brittany Vissers, Lexus Parker, Zach Vissers, Jon Vissers, Michaela Gustin, McKenzie Gustin, and McKenna Gustin. She is also survived by her brother, Warren (Christy) Lessor of Little Chute and two nieces: Amee Lessor, her godchild, and Marci Lessor.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her son, David Strong.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23rd starting at 4:30 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m. at Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute with Fr. David Funk O.F.M. Cap. officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marie's name.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at ThedaCare as well as the doctors and staff at Froedert Medical Center in Milwaukee for all their care they gave Marie and to all who offered their prayers and support.
Mom, you always worried about everyone else but yourself. Now you can finally relax and be our guardian angel and be with your little angel in heaven.

    Obituary:
Michael John Vissers, 42 of Kaukauna, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 6th after a long 7 year battle with Kidney Cancer.
Mike was born in Appleton on February 6, 1972, son of John (Jack) Vissers and late Marie (Lessor) Newton.
Mike graduated in 1990 from Hortonville High School. For the past couple of years, Mike was employed at CDI Corporation as a Vice President of Business Development. His work ethic was unbelievable and he always strived for excellence and formed many great friendships over his years of working at various companies.
He married the love of his life and best friend, Patricia (Maciel) Vissers on November 30, 1996. Together they had 3 beautiful children, Nick (Morella), Alissa and Brittany, who were his whole world. He loved going to visit Nick at UW Platteville and taking him out to eat when passing through on his business trips. He loved watching Alissa this past spring play softball for the first time, and hearing her sing in Lawrence University Girls Choir. And, he loved watching Brittany perform and being her "roadie" on her gigs or go deer hunting with her every year. His family was his life and everything he did, he did for them. One of the most favorite things to do with his family is go on vacation, and recently over the Christmas holiday, took his family to Florida where they went to Walt Disney World and spent lots of time with family around the pool. This past summer was spent on their pontoon boat in Waupaca where they brought family and friends to make lots of memories out on the Chain Of Lakes.
The next thing closest to his heart, was his nieces and nephews, whom he loved to spoil. He loved having them over, especially in the summertime, to watch them swim and fish in the backyard pond. Lexi, Jon, Zach, Desmond, Faith, and Naomi, Uncle Mike loved it when you came over and "harassed" him. He loved you all so much and will always be there watching over you.
Mike had many many close friends, but really valued the time, fun and memories he and Tricia had with Pat Vincent and the motorcycle trips they went on together. He also loved the fun and antics he and Tricia would have with Travis & Kari Tiedt, Jim & Gina VanDeHey and "Captain" Ron & Sally Fiestel. Time with them brought lots of laughter, late nights in the tree house and around the campfire, and ultimately, everyone would end up picking on Mike. This is what family does, and these people were and are considered family to Mike & Tricia and their children.
Mike was a pretty special person. He was always "giving back". He would give someone the shirt off his back and not think twice about it. Mike set the standard pretty high on working hard, saving money, helping others and just being a decent person.
Not many people knew that Mike had been fighting Cancer for the past 7 years because he was not one to complain. For those people who did know, he would always say "It is what it is" and then he would smile. Every treatment or surgery, he said was "maintenance". His courage and positive attitude made him an inspiration to others.
Mike is also survived by his Father & Step Mother, John (Jack) & Sharon Vissers of Appleton, his in-laws, David & Cecilia Maciel of Newark, CA and his cousins Tim & Mickey Guyette of Hortonville which are like parents to him, his four brothers, Greg (Tammy) Vissers of Little Chute, Ryan (LeAnn) Vissers and Jason (Jennifer) Vissers of Appleton and Bob (Geri) Guyette of Hortonville and four sisters, Renee Vissers of Appleton and Diana (Desmond) Strong of Kaukauna, Stacey Guyette of Appleton and Kari (Brett) Magolski of Dale and brother in law, Mike (Barbara) Maciel of Milpitas, CA.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Marie (Lessor) Newton, Brother, David Strong, Grandmother, Michaelena Lessor, Grandparents, George & Fran Vissers, Uncle, Dennis Vissers, & Cousin, Adam Vissers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Mary's Church, 119 W. 7th Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Fr. David Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, on Friday, March 14, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday directly at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. To sign the guestbook, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr Phillips, Dr Krueger and all the nurses and staff at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, The Martha Sickman Cancer Center and the 7th floor of AMC for all their care they have shown Mike and his family for the past 7 years.
Tricia would like to extend a very special thank you to my Parents, Mike's parents and all of Mikes brothers and sisters for being there every single day for me, Mike and the kids these past few months. You all mean the world to me and we love you all very very much. I don't know what we would have done without all of your help, love and support.
Last but not least, our family wants to give a very special thank you to Lance Vandenbrook and John Gallinagh for organizing an amazing "go fund me" website and "take them a meal" website and to all of our family and friends who have generously donated to our family. No matter what you did, if it was big or small, it has not gone unnoticed.
We love you always & forever and know you will be watching down on us with Duke & Packer at your side, our guardian angels.
Love, Tricia, Nick, Alissa, Brittany, Bella, Baxter & Dewey
