Smith, Clarence A., “Corky”K aukaunaAge 70 died unexpectedly Thursday, December 18, 2003 at his home. He was b orn August 9, 1933 in Kaukauna, son of the late Clarence and Elsie (Geurt s) Smith. On May 10, 1958 Corky married the former Janice Fens at St. Jo hn Catholic Church, Little Chute. The couple resided in the Kaukauna ar ea their entire married lives. Corky worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper f or 30 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed spending time up north and w as an avid Packer fan. In his younger years, Corky loved to hunt and fis h. He was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran, was member of St. Aloysius Catho lic Church, and a member of the Thilmany Quarter Century Club. Survivors i nclude his wife of 45 years, Janice, their children; Linda (Dan) Sonderegg er and their children, Amy and Jenny (special friend, Jerry Palmer), Bru ce (Jodi) Smith and their children, Jason and Rachel, Ray (Brenda) Smith a nd their children, Scott and Sam, Brenda Smith and her son, Natha n. He is further survived by his wife’s family; his mother-in-law, Beatri ce Lenz, in-laws; Roger (Diane) Fens, Carol (Ron) Welch and numerous Aunt s, Uncles, Nephews and Nieces, as well as his special companions; Bo, Magi c, Buddy and Willy. Corky was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edwa rd Fens and his step father-in-law, Joseph Lenz. Funeral services wi ll be held at 11:30 am Saturday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukau na with Fr. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemeter y, Kaukauna. Friends may call directly at the church from 9:30 am Saturd ay until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has be en established in his name.The family would like to thank the Kaukauna Police Department and Paramedi cs for their valiant efforts.
