    Vander Heyden, Ambrose M.Ambrose M. Vander Heyden, 78, of Green Bay, died on April 20, 2005. He w as born on January 29, 1927, in Allouez to the late Herman and Marie (Laur ent) Vander Heyden. Bud graduated from Central Catholic High School in 19 45 and later attended St. Norbert College. He married the former Bet ty J. Van Oss at St. Williebrord Catholic Church on October 16, 1948. B ud served in the United States Army during WWII and was recalled to servi ce during the Korean War. He started his banking career in 1950 as a Pro of Operator-Teller and retired as Vice President and Cashier from First Wi sconsin State Bank in 1987. His first love was his family. Bud was an av id Packer fan, member of Northbrook Country Club, enjoyed bowling, golfin g, dart ball, and playing bridge with his many friends. Bud dedicated mo re than 25 years in the Optimist Club; during that time he held positio ns as Secretary-Treasurer, Treasurer, and Club President. He served as a m ember of the St. Philip Parish Council and Secretary of St. Philips Home S chool Association. Bud was an active member of the Ushers Club and the Ho ly Name Society. Bud was also a volunteer worker for United Fund.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty; his children, Kathy (Bob) W ery, Geneva, IL; Robert (Mary) Vander Heyden, Green Bay; and Sue (Rick) Mo ras, Green Bay; five grandchildren: Jen (Carl) Schleyer, Geneva, IL; Jas on Wery, Scottsdale, AZ; Willie Vander Heyden, Madison, WI; Bonnie Vand er Heyden, Milwaukee, WI; and Kimberly Moras, Green Bay; his brother, Fran cis Vander Heyden; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Vander Heyden and LaVer ne Vander Heyden.He was preceded in death by four brothers: John, Antone, Lawrence, and Her man; three sisters: Minnie McKeever, Marie Vannieuwenhoven, and Rita Allen .Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home & Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St ., from 4-8 pm Friday. Parish wake service 7 pm Friday at the funeral hom e. There will be no visitation prior to the service on Saturday. Mass of C hristian Burial at 11 am Saturday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Churc h, 312 Victoria St., with the Rev. Larry Canavera officiating. Entombme nt in the Allouez Catholic Chapel Mausoleum. Bud will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
