    Obituary:
    Elden G. Marcks, 711 W. Franklin St., Appleton, age 56, passed away suddenly Monday morning. He was born July 14, 1904, in the Town of Black Creek and had been a resident of Appleton the past 8 years. He was employed at the Appleton Wire Works. Mr. Marcks is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Richard Weber, Rt. 1, Menasha; Mrs. Kenneth Buman and Mrs. Duane Schoepke both of Appleton; Alma, at home; three sons, David, Menasha, Janice, Shiocton, Bruce, at home; one brother. Lyndon, route 2, Shiocton; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Wirth, Hortonville; Mrs. Joseph Bergholz and Mrs. Bessie Kleist, both of Appleton; Mrs. Harley Schwandt, Shiocton; Mrs. Clarence Johnson, route 2, Shiocton; 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. W. H. Gammelin officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Wednesday until 9:30 a.m. Thursday and then at the church until the time of service.

    Janice "Jerry" L. Marcks, age 89, formerly of Shiocton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Meadow Wood Residential Care, Seymour. He was born in the Town of Bovina on March 23, 1927, son of the late Elden and Theresa (Puls) Marcks. On August 25, 1949, Jerry was united in marriage to Carol Schoelkopf in Bear Creek. They recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Jerry lived and farmed in Bovina and also owned and operated Marcks's Superette Grocery Store in Shiocton. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Shiocton.
    He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters: Kathleen (Mike) Kautz, Crandon; Colleen (Don) Beyer, Shiocton; Marlene (Bruce) Daelke, Black Creek; Joan DeGrand, Green Bay; Lynn (Don) Daul, Green Bay; sons, Richard (Sandy) Marcks, Shiocton; Steve (Lynn) Marcks, Clintonville; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Dallas (Betty) Boelter, Appleton; sisters, Ilamae Buman, Black Creek and Alma (Ron) Weber, Appleton brother in-law, Duane Schoepke, Appleton; son-in-law Dave Subera, Evansville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Michael and Gerard, a daughter, Christeen Subera; granddaughter, Jill Subera, two sisters, Carol Weber and Adeline Schoepke and brothers, David Marcks and Bruce Marcks.
    Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Community Room, Seymour with Pastor Paul Hinz officiating. Visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Community Room from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park, Appleton at a later date.

She was bo rn to Elden and Dorothy (Sasman) Marcks on September 9, 1931, in Black Cre ek. She was united in marriage to Richard D.     David Lee Marcks, age 78, of Menasha, passed away at his residence on Monday, December 17, 2012. David was born on April 17, 1934, in Black Creek, to the late Elden and Dorothy (Sasman) Marcks. He was a graduate of Shiocton High School. David proudly served his county in the United States Army for four years during the Korean War. In 1952 he began his career at the Gilbert Paper Mill, retiring in 1999 after 47 years of service. David was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and a very good cribbage player. He enjoyed weekly games with Bob and Jerry, two of his school chums. Survivors include his son, Michael; his former wife, Ardyce; his sisters, Ilamae Buman, Adelyn (Duane) Schoepke and Alma (Ron) Weber; his brothers, Bruce and Jerry Marcks; and his brother-in-law, Richard Weber. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his sister Carol Weber and his brother-in-law, Ken Buman. A private, family service was held. David's family would like to express a sincere thank you to David's friend Jeff for always being there for him when he needed someone.     Adelyn A. Schoepke, "Addie", age 74, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 13, 2013, following a short illness. Addie was born in Black Creek, WI on May 31, 1938 to the late Elden and Dorothy (Sasman) Marcks. She graduated with the class of 1956 at Appleton High School. Following high school, Addie was united in marriage to Duane Schoepke, at Zion Lutheran Church on May 18, 1957. The couple enjoyed over 55 years together.
    Addie enjoyed bowling, canning, gardening, and the Brewers - but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Grandma Shep." She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years.
    She will be missed by her husband Duane, Appleton; son Jeff Schoepke, Appleton; two daughters: Carrie (Dan) Mai, Freedom and Connie (Stephen) Heimerl, Appleton; seven grandchildren: Tony (Tara) Hawley, Colleen (Billy) Daul, Kris Hawley, Becky Mai, Dustin (Amanda) Heimerl, Nathaniel Heimerl, and Brittney Heimerl; five great-grandchildren: Kohen, Ally, Macey, Caeden, and Cullen; two sisters: Ilamae Buman and Alma (Ron) Weber; two brothers: Bruce Marcks and Jerry (Carol) Marcks; and two brothers-in-law: Richard Weber and Bob (Nancy) Schoepke. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol, brother David, and brother-in-law Ken Buman.
    The Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida St., Appleton, with Rev. Ken Schlueter officiating. Friends may visit at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and directly at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff at Appleton Medical Center, and also to Nurse David and Dr. Runo at UW Hospital Madison, for the compassionate care shown to Addie. She began a new chapter in her life in 1991, when she was a recipient of a donor kidney, also received at UW Hospital Madison.

    Bruce D. Marcks, age 70, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, comfortably with family and friends at his side. He was born on March 8, 1945 at St. Elizabeth Hospital to the late Elden and Dorothy (Sasman) Marcks.
    Bruce graduated from Appleton High School in 1963, then following graduation he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. After the service, he worked at Fox River Paper Co. and from there he went on to work for the state of Wisconsin until he retired in 2005. At both places of work, he found a large number of friends that remained with him to this day. Bruce had an exceedingly kind heart, a gentle spirit, and once you became his friend, you were a friend for life! His smile, warmth, and presence here will be greatly missed by those who love him, until that Blessed-Hope of reuniting again.
    He is survived by his siblings: Jerry (Carol) Marcks, Ilamae Buman, Alma (Ron) Weber; sister-in-law Ardyce Marcks; and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. Bruce was preceded in death by sisters Carol Weber and Adelyn Schoepke; brother David Marcks; brothers-in-law Ken Buman and Richard Weber; and nephew son Jeff Schoepke.
    Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton. The celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Saturday November 7, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at FAT SAMMY'S, 2500 S. Oneida Street, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
    Special thanks to Bruce's friends who were ALWAYS there for him: Darryl Ziehm, Tim Shercel, Brian Lesenski, Steve Strelow, Wayne Fuller, David Packard, Troy Quast, and many many others that are too numerous to list.

    Jeffrey D. Schoepke 56, Appleton, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 11, 2015 at Cherry Meadows Hospice following a brief illness. Jeff was born on August 14, 1958 to Duane and Adelyn (Marcks) Schoepke in Appleton. He worked at Appleton Papers and most recently Manor Care. He was an avid lifelong Cincinnati Bengals football fan and loved music. He also participated in baseball and wrestling in his younger years. Jeff was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed his many cats.
    Survivors include his father, Duane Schoepke, Appleton; sisters: Carrie (Dan) Mai, Freedom and Connie (Stephen) Heimerl, Appleton; nieces and nephews: Tony (Tara) Hawley, Colleen (Billy) Daul, Kris Hawley, Becky Mai, Dustin (Amanda) Heimerl, Nathaniel Heimerl and Brittney (fiancé, Justin Schwartz) Heimerl; great nieces and nephews: Kohen, Ally, Macey, Caeden, Cullen, Eleanor, Hayze 'Purple', Harper and Coleson. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
    Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Adelyn.
    Funeral services for Jeff will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church (912 N. Oneida St., Appleton) with Rev. Lloyd Luedemans officiating. Interment will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 5 - 7 PM at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel and directly at church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
    The family wishes to thank ThedaCare at Home and Cherry Meadows Hospice for their care these past few weeks.
