    Jesse J. Lappen, 42, Grand Chute, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. He was born Oct. 28, 1963, to Paul and Beverly (Crha) Lappen, in LaCrosse and had been an Appleton resident most of his life. Jesse enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and trapping. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Tammy S. (Weylandt) Lappen, to whom he had been married for 18 years; two daughters, Tara Popp, Appleton; Elizabeth Popp, Appleton; a granddaughter, Melanie Popp; his mother, Beverly Babcock, West Plaines, Mo.; six siblings, Suzanne (Carl) Mohl, Appleton; John Lappen, Appleton; Joan (Brian) Diem, Appleton; Connie Piscitello, Little Chute; Caroline Lappen, Kaukauna; Lynn Holloway, Menasha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lappen. The funeral liturgy for Jesse will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 West Pine Street, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. A parish prayer and scripture service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday. A memorial fund is being established.
