    Verstegen, Doris J. - Our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma & Great-Grandma Doris J. (Muthig) Verstegen, 85, Little Chute, passed away at home on January 20, 2017. She is now at peace with our Lord and her beloved son, Jim.
    Doris was born in Deer Creek on Jan 19, 1932 to the late John & Norma (Doehling) Muthig. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1950 and married Donald Verstegen on Sept 6, 1958. She spent her life in service to others. When she wasn't caring for her family, she was waiting on her customers. She was a successful business person, opening Mom's Cozy Café with her son, Jim. They owned & operated the restaurant from 1987 to 1991.
    Doris is survived by her husband Donald Verstegen, her children, Jeff Verstegen, Kaukauna; Jolene Verstegen, Little Chute; Judi (John) Wolf, Appleton; Jon Verstegen, Saumico; her Grandchildren, Crystal (Cory) Solon, Derek (Valerie) Verstegen, Amy Losselyong, Joshua (Holly), Benjamin & Nicholas Wolf, and Sophia Verstegen; Great-Grandchildren: McKenzie Gillis, Alaena & Aubrey Wolf and Marlee Verstegen. Doris is also survived by her sister Lois Selig, sister-in-law & brothers-in-law: Geneva Muthig, Carl Verstegen and Ross Verstegen and many nieces & nephews
    She was preceded in death by her son James Verstegen, her parents John & Norma (Doehling) Muthig, her brothers & sister: Earl Muthig, Sylvester Muthig, Joyce (Robert) Balthazar, Kenneth Muthig, her parents-in-law George & Marie (Kees) Verstegen, her sisters-in-law Doris Verstegen & Marian Verstegen, nieces & nephews Marlene Lyons, Karen Kuchenbecker, Bruce Muthig & Doug Muthig.
    A private family service is being held at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home. A celebration of Doris' life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at Hollander's Pub & Grill in Little Chute.

    Marlene Lyons, age 68, of Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice on May 24, 2013. Marlene was born in Bear Creek on December 8, 1944, daughter of the late Robert and Joyce (Muthig) Balthazor. On October 20, 1962, she married Jerry Lyons, and together the couple enjoyed fifty years together. They raised two daughters: Leann (David) Roth of Harrison and their son Austin; and Kara Wiesner of Oshkosh and her children Brody and Xander. She is also survived by two brothers: Calvin (Peggy) Balthazor of Colorado and Rodney (Nancy) Balthazor of Darboy; three brothers-in-law: Ron Kuchenbecker of Crandon, LeRoy Lyons of Appleton, and Kenneth (Barbara) Lyons of Appleton. There are also many nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws: Joseph and Sally Lyons, and a sister Karen Kuchenbecker. Marlene enjoyed crafting, crocheting, reading, playing games and puzzles. Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME— TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Deacon Gib Schmidt officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.     Bruce Muthig, age 55, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, January 11, 2009, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on May 7, 1953, in Neenah, to Kenneth and Katherine (Papageorge) Muthig. Bruce was employed at JB Hunt Trucking. He loved hunting and fishing with his boys. Bruce enjoyed volunteering as a Boy Scout leader, delivering meals to shut-ins and teaching Sunday school.
    Bruce is survived by his wife, Leah (Ary) Muthig; his sons: Benjamin and Robin Muthig; mother, Katherine Muthig; father-in-law, George (Cyrena) Ary; mother-in-law, Joyce Ary; brother, Greg (Patty) Muthig; sisters: Debbie (Charlie) Vanden Heuvel, Cindy (Ken) Remus, Norma (Tim) Peerenboom and Karen Phelps.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Muthig; niece, Kailey May Peerenboom and nephew, Jesse Muthig.
    The funeral service for Bruce will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2009, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Dick Schaefer officiating. The burial will take place Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.     Obituary:
    Matthew Paul Muthig, Waupaca, graduated into the hands of our Lord on August 25, 2010. Matt was born August 21, 1970, to Janine (Rick) Froehlich and Brad (Chris) Muthig.
    Everyone who knew Matt appreciated and will miss his unique wit and his love and acceptance of all. Matt was an inspiration to everyone who came in contact with him over the past 4 months, as he fought with everything he had to overcome this devastating illness. Go in Peace.
    Matt is survived by his parents, son Blake, daughter Maurisa, fiancee Sonja and her daughter Emma, Grandmother Lou Muthig, who always called Matt her angel, his lifelong friends Jeff and Dennis, and his buddy Max. Matt is further survived by his aunts: Diane VanHandel, Gretchen (Jim) Schuelke, and Molly Gottfried, along with numerous cousins and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter Brook, grandparents Melvin and Marjorie Gottfried and Earl Muthig, and his uncle Doug Muthig.
    A Funeral Service for Matt will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 30, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to thank Dr. Cheng and his staff, Dr. Swanson and his staff, and especially the nurses and staff of Appleton Medical Center's ICU, 7th Floor Oncology, surgical center, and hospice, who all cared so gently for him throughout his suffering.
