    Norman Rettler, of Appleton, age 89, one month short of his 90th birthday, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his family. Norman was born on December 21, 1925 in Black Creek, to the late Nicholas F. and Catherine (Krousa) Rettler. On June 10, 1950 he married Mary Jane Meyerhofer, celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary this year. Norman served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy between 1944 and 1946. He was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Appleton.
    The City of Appleton Fire Department employed him for 28 years, retiring in January of 1982. In addition he was a talented carpenter completing several houses, including his last two homes, always helping out his children with building projects.
    His love of botany, hard work and travel were passed on to his family, as well as being an avid Green Bay Packer fan. His love of travel started early, and the family enjoying camping at many National Parks and traveling the U.S. In their later years Mary Jane and he took many scenic trips to various sites around the world.
    He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Jane, and their children: Kathy (Tom) Helm of Neenah, Jeff Rettler (Sandy) of Wrightstown, Pam (Tom) Peterson of Appleton, Randy (Maggie) Rettler of Green Bay, and Kurt (Judee) Rettler of Lees Summit, Missouri; grandchildren: Angela (John) Ryun and Neil (Anne) Helm; Aaron (Dori) Rettler, Amy (Brant Olson) Rettler and Alyssa Rettler; Scott (Alia) Breitengross and Jordan Peterson; Greg Rettler, Mike (Kate) Rettler, and Jim Rettler; and Monika Rettler; eight great grandchildren. Norman is further survived by his former daughter-in-law Diane Rettler, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his siblings: Florence (Herbert) Stingle, Giles (Berenice), Jerome (Marcella) and Milo (Caroline) Rettler.
    The funeral liturgy for Norman will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 4, 2015 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street in Appleton. Fr. Gerald Falk will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Black Creek. A time of visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

On December 27, 1969, she married Thomas J. Falk at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Oshkosh, WI. Mrs. Falk is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as jogging, camping, hiking, reading, savoring fancy chocolates, and traveling with her family.
    She is survived by her husband Thomas, Port Washington, WI; children Amanda (Christopher) Dombrowicki, Wauwatosa, WI; Michael (Haven) Falk, San Francisco, CA; and siblings Thomas (Chris), Sheboygan, WI; Mary (David) Putzer, Gainesville, GA; Nicholas (Kathy), Appleton, WI; and Cynthia (Thomas) Birk, Maumee, OH. She is further survived by one grandchild Jake, Wauwatosa, WI.

    James N. Rettler, 62, Black Creek, passed away Friday morning July 29, 2005 at Weyauwega Health Center. He was born August 5, 1942 son of Marcella (Stephani) Rettler and the late Jerome Rettler. On December 16, 1972, he was united in marriage to Catherine Schroeder.
    Jim was a proud member of the Operating Engineers local 139 since 1964. He was a long time member of the Black Creek Fire Department. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He was an Army Reserve veteran and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek.
    A loving son, husband, father and grandfather is survived by his wife, Cathy, his children: Nicholas (Allison), Kaukauna; Jesse, Black Creek; and Jodi Marie Rettler, Black Creek. Three grandchildren: Alex, Darian, and Nichole and one soon to be granddaughter. Also surviving is his mother Marcella, Black Creek; sisters: Dorothy (Bill) Paltzer and Gloria Krueger of Black Creek; brothers: Dan (Sheri), Duane (Joyce), Steve (Nancy), all of Black Creek; and Dave (special friend Kris) Seymour; and Dick (JoAnn), Menasha; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Shirley Siewert, Donna Shepard, Fred (Kathy) Schroeder, Larry (Margaret) Schroeder, Joann (Roland) Gasser, Bill (Cindy) Schroeder, Dennis (Pat) Schroeder, Pat (Lyle) Shepard, Diane (David) Bunnell and Rick (Carol) Schroeder. A sister-in-law, Carol, Black Creek. Numerous nieces and nephews and God Children.
    James was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and a nephew, Scott, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Marie Schroeder and three brothers-in-law: John VanDenBogart, Merton Shepard and William Siewart.

    David R. Rettler, age 58, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday night, August 25, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was born September 18, 1950, to the late Jerome and Marcella (Stephani) Rettler. Dave was a graduate of Seymour High School and Navy Vietnam Veteran. For 27 years he owned and operated Dave's Tavern in Black Creek.
    He was a Black Creek American Legion and VFW member. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Tavern League. Dave was an avid Packers and Badgers fan, enjoyed riding his bike and especially time spent with his grandchildren at the camper.
    Survivors include his special friend Kris Kimball; his children, Denae Rettler, and her children, Kyle and Josh; Geri Lynn Rettler (special friend Jody Vanevenhoven); sisters and brothers: Dorothy (Bill) Paltzer, Black Creek; Daniel (Sheri) Rettler, Black Creek; Duane (Joyce) Rettler, Black Creek; Gloria Krueger, Black Creek; Steven (Nancy) Rettler, Black Creek; Richard (JoAnn) Rettler, Menasha; sister-in-law, Cathy Rettler, Black Creek; friend Carol Rettler; and his many nieces and nephews.

    Black Creek - Terry Lee Rettler age 74 passed away at his home on March 14, 2018.
    Terry was born August 30, 1943, the first child of Mile and Caroline (Stephani) Rettler. Terry was a 1961 graduate of Seymour High School. One June 24, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sandy Kitzman. Terry worked at O.J. Boldt Construction, served on the Black Creek Village board for 15 years and served in the Army National Guard. Terry was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, WI.
    Terry will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Sandy; son, Todd (Melissa) Rettler; daughter, Tracy (Chris) Prilepp; granddaughters: Brianna Prilepp, Kira and Hannah Rettler; grandson, Braeden Prilepp; brothers: Sam (Mary) Rettler, Bill (Maryann) Rettler, brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Kitzman; sisters-in- law: Bonnie (Terry) McDermott, Nancy (Dennis) Hack, Debbie (Chuck) Elliott; along with many nieces and nephews.
    Terry is reunited in Heaven by his parents, his father and mother-in-law Alfred and Jeanette Kitzman; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sharon and Bill Viergutz; nephews Tom Viergutz and Rod McDermott.
    Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
    Terry will always be remembered as a kind, gentle man who deeply loved his family, grandchildren, his many friends and Heather Pick who was like a grandchild.
    The family offers special thanks to Lowell James and Ron Koehler for always being there along with his Hospice nurses: Penny Sue, Jean and Lisa!
