    Melvin R. Aul, formerly of Appleton, age 91, went home to be with the Lord for eternity on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, from River Hills West Healthcare Center in Pewaukee. Mel was born October 25, 1916, in the Town of Buchanan, to the late Emil and Frieda (Doering) Aul. He resided in and loved Appleton for 86 years. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1934. Following graduation, he joined the CCC's in Star Lake, WI. On January 18, 1939, Mel was united in marriage to Rosemary A. Reiter. The couple enjoyed 48 years together until her death in 1987. Mel was in business for himself from 1951 to 1987 starting as a cabinet maker for new home construction in the Appleton area. The business evolved into Mel Aul Custom Fixtures and Interiors, a strictly commercial enterprise designing and building supper clubs, restaurants and bars primarily in Wisconsin but also in Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida. He was an avid sports fan his entire life. Mel was a low handicap golfer and a member of Ridgeway Country Club. He placed second in the Cherryland Open in Door County in the late 1950s and his wife, Rosie and he won the couples championship at Ridgeway CC in the early 1970s. He was a huge fan and held season tickets for many years to the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Bucks games. Mel took great pride in his children and was dedicated to their success and well-being.
    He is survived by his daughter Jackie (Don) Brown, Waukesha; two sons: Thomas (Pat) Aul, Delafield and William (Nancy) Aul, San Diego, CA. Grandchildren Beth (Eric) Vosburg, Middleton; Jill (Paul) Galazka, Oshkosh; Justin Winslow, Delafield; Charlie (Dava) Aul, Atlanta; Maggie (Ben) Stahl, Dousman; Christopher Aul, Malibu, CA; and Katie and Sally Aul, San Diego. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Gavin, Jackie, Jane, Emily, Katherine, Jonathon, Abby, CJ, and Kai; his sister Ellyn Bruch, Appleton; and a sister-in-law Joan Reiter, Oshkosh.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosemary, and two sisters: Vera (Radke) Bauernfiend and Erna Peak.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 10, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund to St. Bernard Catholic Church has been established in Mel's name.

    Ellyn R. Bruch, 84, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born in Appleton on February 12, 1924, daughter of the late Emil and Frieda (Doering) Aul. She married Donald Bruch on June 8th, 1946, who preceded her in death on April 11, 1998.
    Ellyn is survived by her two sons, Stephan (Judy), and Jeffrey (Teri); five grandchildren, Eric (Molly), Julie (Brad) Vandehey, Scott (Amy), Lindsey (Josh) Baade, and Jason; nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
    A Memorial Service for Ellyn will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Highland Memorial Chapel.
    The family would like to offer special thanks to Circle of Care Coop. Homecare Personnel, 4N AMC and all of the Hospice Personnel.

    Little Chute - Steve Bruch, age 71 of Little Chute, passed away June 27, 2018 at ThedaCare in Appleton. Steve was born in Appleton on May 1, 1947, son of the late Donald and Ellyn (Aul) Bruch. He was a graduate of Appleton West High School, and from January of 1970 to September of 1970 served in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his discharge, he continued by serving more than twenty more years in the Army Reserve Medical Command Unit. For nearly thirty years, Steve was employed by the Appleton Area School District.
    Steve is survived by his wife: Judy Bruch of Little Chute; two children: Julie (Brad) Vandehey of Darboy and Eric (Molly) Bruch of Combined Locks; Judy's children: Scott Paeth of Appleton, Craig Paeth of Kaukauna, and Michael Paeth of Menasha; eleven grandchildren: Blake Vandehey, Breanna Vandehey, Bennett Vandehey, Taylor Bruch, Trevor Bruch, Gabriela Bruch, Alicia Paeth, Matthew Paeth, Jarod Paeth, Aiden Paeth, and Hunter Paeth; a brother: Jeff (Teri) Bruch of Green Bay; a special cousin: Garry (Shelly) Bruch, Sr. of Florida, and the mother of his children: Mary Thompson. Other survivors include Judy's siblings: Ed (Kay) Hudak of Neenah, Connie Coffey of Milwaukee, Jean (Jeff) Loehrke of Weyauwega, and Patrick (Kym) Hudak of Appleton. There are also many nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
    Family and friends will gather to remember Steve on Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2018, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Little Chute Village Hall, 625 Grand Avenue in Little Chute. At 4:00 PM there will be a sharing of memories following by military honors.

    Steve will be remembered as a generous and loving man who loved his family and friends very much. He was proud of his military service and traveled the country to attend the many Vietnam Reunions. In memory of Steve, be sure to find someone today and give them a hearty "Thumbs Up!"
