    Obituary:
    William Fred Liethen, Sr., age 89, Birnamwood, town of Norrie, died Sunday, January 19, 1986 at Wausau Hospital Center.
    He was born August 29, 1896 in Gresham, the son of the late Henry and Marie (Huhn) Liethen.
    In 1920 William was united in marriage to Mayme Kuehn in the town of Norrie. She preceded him in death in 1936. On September 1, 1938 he married Theckla "Tillie" Litza in Hatley. She preceded him in death on January 24, 1981.
    William was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War I.
    Survivors include two sons, William (Lois) Liethen, Jr., Birnamwood and George (Sandra) Liethen, Marshfield; one step-son, Ernest Yach, Hatley; one daughter, Dolores (Harry) Fischer, Birnamwood; one sister, Gertrude (Nicholas) Wennmacher, Aurora, IL; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Margaret Malchowski, two brothers and five sisters.
    Funeral services were held January 20, 1986 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. The Rev. Donald Laux officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
