Obituary:
Dorothy Jane Melcher 'Dot,' age 85, Appleton, passed away with her husband, Richard at her side November 17, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1923, in Racine, WI, to the late J. W. and Harriet (Kovar) Nissen. Dorothy married Richard Melcher on September 11, 1948, and they recently celebrated their 60th Anniversary. They were charter members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was a wonderful wife and marvelous mother who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Steve and Tom; two brothers: J.D. and R.J. Nissen.
Private family services will be held.
Richard would like to thank the staff of the ER and 4th at AMC for their care and concern of Dorothy.
