Heinrich Scherer died on the 30th of October at his home in the South war d, after an sickness of several months. He had been troubled with asthma f or a long time, which finally ended in consumption, and it was this disea se which caused his death. Deceased was born in Prussia, Sept. 29th, 182 4, and was, therefore, 70 years and 31 days of age at the time of his deat h. He removed to this country at an early day, settling in Oconto county a bout thirty years ago. He was well and favorably known, being a good citiz en and an honest man. The funeral took place today from St. Joseph's chur ch and was largely attended. Rev. P. J. Lochman conducted the services. T he deceased leaves a wife and seven children -- three daughters and four s ons -- who are assured the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
The next issue;
Henry Scherer, whose death notice appeared in the last issue of The Enquir er, had been a resident of this city for thirty-eight years, and had be en in the United States since 1848, coming over at that time with his brot her Mat, who now lives at Highcliff, Wis. He made Kaukauna his home for ab out eight years before moving to Oconto. Mr. Scherer was born in the villa ge of Tierschied, district of Adenau, province of Coblentz, Germany.

She was born on December 22, 1913 in Stockbridge, the daughter of the late John and Anna Scherer Kersten.
Bertha enjoyed bowling and sewing. She was a Brownie leader for many years. She loved to play cards with her grandchildren. She was employed at Zwicker Knitting Mill for 20 years.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children: Roberta and Francis Slomska, Weyauwega; David Bloch, Racine; Richard and Betty Bloch, Kaukauna; Rita and Charles Linzmeier, Menasha; John and Judy Bloch, St. Petersburg, Florida; Anna and James Beach, Stockbridge. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Dorothy Van Dyke, Kaukauna; Margaret and Orville Spaulding, Menasha; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Bloch, Kaukauna.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Aloy Bloch; and her second husband, Joe Effa; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ed and Jane Kersten and Paul and Joan Kersten; a sister and a brother-in-law: Ceil and Clem Nabbefeld; two grandchildren: Robert Slomska and Cory A. Smith.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 1995 at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna with Father Paul Paider officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

She was born on August 6, 19 17 in Stockbridge, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Scherer) Kerste n. On September 12, 1935 she married Edwin Van Dyke. He passed away in 197 8. Dorothy was a homemaker all of her life, loved her grandchildren, and g reat grandchildren, learned how to drive a car at the age of 63. She lov ed to garden and help out at Century Oaks in Wrightstown where she lived h er last years; and kept the staff under her mothering wing.She is survived by her two sons: Edwin T. Margaret Spaulding, age 89, of Appleton, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center due to health complications.
Margie was born January 17, 1924, in Appleton, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Scherer) Kersten. While she was attending Kaukauna High School, she met her future husband Orville and they were married in June 1944 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. He preceded her in death in September 2004. Margie then met her other sweetie Len Kutz in 2006. It was Len's gentle encouragement that Margie became a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Appleton. During her lifetime, Margaret worked as a secretary and as a child care provider.
Survivors include her sweetheart, Len; her son, Thomas Spaulding, Appleton; two grandchildren: Jesse Spaulding and Shelley (Jeff) Christopherson; great-grandchildren: Dylon, Benjamin, Lexa (deceased), Mickayla, and Nathan; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by all her siblings and spouses: Lucille Nabbefeld, Bertha Bloch Effa, Dorothy Van Dyke, Paul Kersten and Edwin Kersten, and all of Orville's siblings and spouses.
The memorial service for Margie will be Thursday, May 23, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Star of Hope Chapel, Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will begin Thursday at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Highland Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Margie's honor may be sent to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2330 E. Calumet St., Appleton, 54915.
Please do an act of kindness in Margie's memory.

Edward H. Berrens, 60 School St., Chilton, age 82, died on Monday, November 16, 1998, at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born July 26, 1916, in Stockbridge, son of the late Edward and Lena Scherer Berrens. Pat married Leona L. Krebsbach Zorn on October 4, 1947, at St. Joe. She preceded him in death on September 30, 1968. He served in the United States Army during World War II and worked at the Aluminum Specialty Company in Chilton until retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Chilton and also served as custodian there from 1978 until 1992. He is survived by six daughters, Debbie Joe Dotson, Chilton; Patty Bernie Geiser, Chilton; Sharon Zorn, Chilton; Shirley Twining, Neenah; Mary Berrens, Chilton; Deloris Berrens, Chilton; a son-in-law, Karl Bubolz, Reedsville; 24 grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Melchoirs, Appleton, and Katherine Bill Forstner, Chilton; two brothers, Gene Deloris Berrens, Chilton, and Robert Berrens, Manitowoc. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, three grandchildren, a great grandson and three brothers, Claude, Victor, and Art. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 1998, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Chilton, with the Rev. Gary New S. D. S. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Chilton, Wisconsin - Catherine M. Forstner, age 98, of Chilton, died on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born January 29, 1920 in Chilton, daughter of the late Edward & Leona (Scherer) Berrens.
Catherine married William Charles Forstner on August 24, 1940 in Chilton; he preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.
Through her working years, Catherine was employed by Larson Cleaners in Chilton and then Aluminum Specialty. During her tenure there, they became known as Foley from where she retired.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary Parish.
Catherine always enjoyed a good laugh and never missed an opportunity to have fun with her family or friends. She and her husband, William, traveled through every contiguous lower 48 states along with Mexico and Canada forever looking for new adventures or excitement. Catherine's love of life and excitement of new places and adventures allowed her to bridge the gap of generations and make friends with people she met along life's highway.
Survivors include her daughter: Yvonne (Lowell) Holdorf of Kiel; her sons: William (Lois) Forstner of Chilton, Kenneth (Sally Jo) Forstner of Kimberly; her 8 grandchildren: Lee, Mark & David Holdorf, Lisa (David) Arvai, Dale (Missy) Forstner, Mike Forstner, Jenny Forstner, Jill (Phil) Ullmer; 13 great grandchildren with one arriving soon; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 sister; and 6 brothers.
Private family services are being held. Burial will be in the Streckert Cemetery in the Town of Eaton.

Eugene P. "Gene" Berrens, age 92, of Chilton, died on Monday, October 14, 2013. Gene was born on October 2, 1921 to the late Edward & Lena (Scherer) Berrens.
He married Deloris Zorn on October 9, 1948; they celebrated 55 wonderful years together. Gene worked at Chilton Aluminum, later known as Mirro / Foley.
Gene loved baseball; in his younger years he was a bat boy, played baseball with friends, and looked forward to attending Milwaukee Braves Games. Later in life, Gene enjoyed watching and listening to Milwaukee Brewers games.
Gene & Deloris spent over 15 summers at their trailer in Shawano, enjoying camping with their grandchildren and friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride & joy. He loved spending time with his family at many get-togethers.
Gene was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Augustine Parish, and devoted time to the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
He is survived by his daughter: Joan (Dale) Walber; a son: Tom Berrens & his special friend, Sue Ellen Hoes; a son-in-law: Bob Harder; grandchildren: Kelly (Matt) Forster, Brittany & Brooke Berrens; great grandsons: Marcus & Bradley Forster; and a sister: Katie Forstner. He is further survived by other family members and friends.

Art Berrens, 723 Diane St., Chilton, Age 72, died on Monday, September 8, 1997 at his home. He was born on June 8, 1925 in Chilton, son of the late Edward and Lena Sherer Berrens. He married Mary Zorn on November 5, 1949, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. Art served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He and his wife owned and operated the Berrens Bakery in Chilton for many years until retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, American Legion Post #125 of Chilton where he served as past commander, V. F. W. Post # 3153, where he was serving as present commander, Chilton Eagles Club #1288 of Chilton, and he served as an alderman on the Chilton City Council.

Claude Berrens, 59, Oshkosh, died today at home.
He was born April 16, 1927, in Chilton, the son of Edward and Nina Star Berrens. He married Charlotte M. Gercke Oct. 2, 1956, in Oshkosh.
Mr. Berrens was a baker for Berrens bakery, Chilton, for 22 years and later worked several years for Werich Used Cars, Oshkosh. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow; four brothers, Robert, Manitowoc, and Gene, Art and Edward Jr., all of Chilton; and two sisters, Catherine Fastner, Chilton, and Gertrude Melcher, Appleton. Services will be Monday at 4 p.m. Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, the Rev. Karl Buresch officiating, burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

William L. Berrens, Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center, age 70, died Tuesday, October 19, 1993. William was born on June 8, 1923 in Sherwood, Wisconsin, son of the late Joseph Berrens, Sr. and Rose Scherer Berrens.
William married Alice Apitz at Waukegan, Illinois on May 4, 1953. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1987.
He worked at consolidated Papers, Inc. in Appleton and Wisconsin Rapids for 35 years, retiring in December of 1984.
William was a veteran of World War II, and enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and dining with his friends at the senior meals site.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Robert Le Clair, Manitowoc; a son Bruce Jean Berrens, Burnsville, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Angela, Christopher, Corinna and Jessica, all of Burnsville, Minnesota. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Evelyn and Audrey; and by a brother, Joseph, Jr.
As requested by William, his body was cremated and there will be no visitation or service. Entombment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, WI 54911.

Betty J. Hoelzel, age 92 of Menasha, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016. She was born in Hortonville on February 9, 1923, the daughter of the late William and Abbie (Dunn) Scherer. On October 18, 1941, she married the love of her life, Reuben Hoelzel. Together they shared 69 wonderful years.
Betty worked for many years and retired from the Newborn Nursery at Theda Clark. She also held office at the local, regional, and state levels of the Eagles club many different times, and participated in various charities throughout her Presidencies. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games like shuffleboard with Reuben, sheep head and dartball. She also liked to play bingo and slot machines. She also adored spending time with her grandchildren, having won Grandmother of the Year, and was known to welcome anyone into the family.
Betty is survived by her children: Beverly (special friend Gerald Nett) Meyers; Wayne Hoelzel; Linda R. Kersten; Barbara (Dennis) Clow; Michael (Bonnie) and daughter-in-law, Sharon Hoelzel; her grandchildren: Deb (Tom) Galinsky; Scott (Leann) Hoelzel; Deborah (Robert) Lee; James G. (Denise) Meyers; Steven Meyers; Kevin (Lisa) Flowers; Michelle Flowers; Brian (Linda) Hoelzel; David Hoelzel; Stacy (Kelly) Braatz; Otilia (Bob) Scanlon; and Lenny Hoehne. A visitation will take place Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, and again at church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Gregorius, Celestine K. "Sally," 88, Appleton, passed away peacefully with family present at her Angelus home on Sunday, June 25, 2006. She was born March 30, 1918, in Sherwood, Wisc., the daughter of the late John J. and Agnes (Janty) Scherer. She was united in marriage to Roger G. Gregorius on Oct. 28, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. Sally was very active at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton. She was the cafeteria cook for the grade school for many years, was an arts and crafts volunteer, helped with the preparation of funeral meals, and cooked for the church events. She was an avid card player, especially sheepshead, which she played regularly on Mondays and Thursdays with her friends at Angelus, and with her cousins and her sister, Bernie. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Lloyd) Brooks, Wautoma, Barb (Tom) O'Brien, Wisconsin Rapids, Karen (Bob) Fischer, Green Bay, and Jim (Joanne) Gregorius, Oconto Falls; her grandchildren, Maureen (Jeff) Rollman, Kevin Byrne, Anne (Jerad) Werth, Tara (Randy) Mangelson, Dan Kettenhofen, Andy Hartzheim, Paul (Ani) Hartzheim, Dan Hartzheim (special friend, Jessie), Steve Gregorius, Pat Gregorius, and John Gregorius; her great-grandchildren, Ella and Carter Werth, and Courbin Kettenhofen. Dolores M. Thiel, 92, of Hilbert, died on October 6, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born September 18, 1925, in the Town of Harrison, daughter of Peter and Caroline (Van Wychen) Scherer. On May 17, 1949, she married Harold G. Thiel at Sacred Heart Church in Sherwood.
Dolores was a member of St. John Sacred Heart Church in St. John and practiced her faith every second of every day. Within her church, she offered her time with the Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and she was always willing to cook for funerals or clean altar linens. Dolores was also a Eucharistic Minister and a charter member of the St. John Adult Choir. Dolores was a catechist for many years for confirmation classes. Her devotion to giving to others led her to volunteer at the St. Joe's Food Pantry and at the Salvatorian Center in New Holstein.
Her favorite role was that of a wife and mother on the family farm. She preferred driving her John Deere 4020 because it had a cab. Running her household taught her a mastery of the kitchen. Dolores was a fabulous cook and loved baking cookies, breads, and pies. Dolores also knew how to have fun. She enjoyed square dancing and playing Sheepshead, and she was part of the Ladies Bowling League for many years.
Dolores is survived by her sons: Gary (Jeanie) Thiel, and Alan (Michelle) Thiel; her grandchildren: Andrea (Kevin) Svoboda, Nicole (Aaron) Keim, Vanessa Thiel, and Hayden Thiel; her great-grandchildren: Clara Svoboda, Audrey Svoboda, and Henry Keim; her brother: Donald (Adeline) Scherer; her brothers-in-law: Ralph (Alice) Steiner, and Leon (Carol) Thiel; her sister-in-law: Martha Thiel; and many nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents: Peter and Caroline Scherer; her infant son: Dennis Thiel; her granddaughter: Angela Thiel; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Math and Jeanette Thiel; her sister-in-law: Margaret Thiel; and her brothers-in-law: Cyril Thiel, Melvin Thiel, Eugene Thiel, and Fr. John H. Scherer, of Darboy, formerly of Kaukauna, age 84, died Thursday May 24, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Rugby, North Dakota on September 17, 1927 to the late John and Laura (Pfiester) Scherer. The family moved to Combined Locks and John graduated from St. John High School in Little Chute. He then went to the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he graduated from the School of Pharmacy. John married Joan Van Hoof on January 30, 1954 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Together they raised 9 children including 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. John worked as a pharmacist for 40 years and co-owned and operated Look Drug Stores. He was a kind, quiet and gentle man, but an "in charge" kind of guy. He was a definite collector of many things and a Mr. fix it. He felt his "treasures" all had potential. John had almost 60 combined years with the Kau-Chute/Fox Valleyaires barbershop chorus. He also enjoyed belonging to the Argonne Rec Group and Wimpy's Casino Gang. Following retirement, he became very involved with the Grandpa Patrol at Holy Spirit Parish in Darboy. In his lifetime, he raised goats, rabbits, and bees. He enjoyed gardening, (especially onions), golfing with his buddies at Fox Valley, playing cards, fishing, hunting, bowling, the Packers and parish activities. He especially enjoyed the annual family trek to Peninsula State Park for a week of tent camping. Spending time with family and friends was very important to him and he will be greatly missed.

Among those joining t he welcoming party were her husband Jim and daughter Margaret. Barb came i nto this world on Oct. 4, 1932, in Marinette, the daughter of the late Jo hn and Laura (Pfiester) Scherer.Barb was known for living life to the fullest, even after the love of h er life, Jim, left this world in 2001. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Jo hn High School, Little Chute, and she graduated from St. Agnes School of N ursing, Fond du Lac, in 1953. She spent the next 35 years sharing her nurs ing skills with patients and colleagues at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleto n. At age 48 and after raising eight children, she returned to the classro om to get her BSN and then became board-certified in occupational health n ursing. She joined Jim in retiring early in 1995 to spend more time at the ir winter home in North Fort Myers, Florida, and their cottage on Lake Poy gan. She enjoyed out-fishing almost everyone, playing a mean Scrabble gam e, beating the odds at the Bingo hall and doing things that few others wou ld even consider, like skydiving for the first time on her 72nd birthda y. She was the consummate volunteer, sharing her care and concern for othe rs in many ways. She was especially dedicated to the American Red Cross, w here she was a local Board member for many years; the Fox Valley AIDs proj ect, where she did patient testing; and Friends in Service Here (FIS H) of N. Fort Myers, which she currently served as president.Barb left a family of seven children and 10 grandchildren whom she loved d early and was very proud of. Marion, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Marion was born on Oct. 3, 1931 in Appleton WI to the late Clement and Lucille (Kersten) Nabbefeld. She graduated from Appleton High School in June, 1949. She married the love of her life Marvin Schimmelpfenning on March 15, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton WI. Marion worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills during the early years of their marriage, then stayed home to raise her children for a number of years. When Marion's children were a little older she started working again at Kirby Vacuum Cleaners and then moved on to Town and Country Electric (currently Faith Technologies) for almost 25 years. Marion retired from Town and Country Electric in 1994.
Marion loved family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve with her beautifully decorated Christmas tree and celebrating everyone's birthdays, as well as an avid baker with many specialties, including baking cookies for Marv. Marion loved the outdoors; she camped, ice skated, roller skated, and cross country skied and in recent years walked about 5 miles a day. She loved traveling with Marv and kept journals of all their trips so they could refer back to them when memory failed them or to settle a dispute. She loved to spend time playing cards with family and friends. She was a square dancer and listened to many audio books.
Marion is survived by her husband, Marvin Schimmelpfenning; daughter Dawn (Rod Maccoux) Fisher, Appleton; sons Jerry (Barb) Schimmelpfenning, Appleton and Ron (Mary Leaf) Schimmelpfenning, Winona MN. Grandchildren; Aaron Fisher, Ben Schimmelpfenning, Rachel (Joshua) Byram and great-grandchildren; Joshua Jr., Brayden, Kaleb and Annabel Byram. Also survived by sister-in-laws; Lynn Malonee, Lorraine Nabbefeld, Ruth (Charlie) Ziegler, Doris Handler and other nieces and nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Lucille Nabbefeld, 3 brothers, Robert, Arthur and Thomas, grandson Jason Fisher and son-in-law Jim Fisher. In-laws, Ernest and Mabel Schimmelpfenning. Brothers-in-law Norman (Lorraine) Schimmelpfenning, Earl (Dona) Schimmelpfenning, Raymond Handler and Raymond Hertzfeld. And so many others that had an impact on her life.
A Memorial service for Marion will be held at 7:00PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:30PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Marion's name.

Edwin T. Van Dyke, Kaukauna, age 78, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his home. He was born July 29, 1936 in Kaukauna, son of the late Edwin F. and Dorothy (Kersten) Van Dyke. Edwin was a US Army Veteran. He married Judith DeBruin on August 4, 1962. The couple enjoyed 37 years of marriage together prior to her death on November 16, 1999. Edwin worked for the city of Kaukauna retiring in 1998. He enjoyed traveling and camping and spending time with family and friends. Edwin was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.

Donald M. Van Dyke, 79 years, of Howard, Wisconsin returned to the Lord Thursday, December 29, 2016 at ManorCare West, Green Bay. He was born August 25, 1937 to his loving parents Edwin F. and Dorothy M. (Kersten) Van Dyke in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. His early years were spent squirrel, rabbit or deer hunting on the family property. Don was a graduate of Kaukauna High School Class of 1955. He was drafted into the US Army and served during the "Cold War".
On July 31, 1965 Donald and Patricia (Brechlin) Van Dyke were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Together they settled in Kaukauna to raise their family. His favorite times were traveling to Milwaukee to visit family and catch a Brewers or Bucks game. He also enjoyed watching Packer or Badger games occasionally getting a ticket to see them. Don was an avid fisherman taking the family on trips to Lake Winnebago where the kids would skate during ice fishing season. Don and Patricia would take casino bus trips to Green Bay and Escanaba to try their luck. Most of all Don loved to spend time with family and friends at Octoberfest at Holy Cross.
Don will be missed by his wife Patricia (Brechlin) Van Dyke, children Melissa (Thomas) Arnoldi of Howard, and Sara (William) Rieselbach of Milwaukee, grandchildren Kayla and Matthew Arnoldi, and sister Charlotte (Joe) Weyenberg. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Edwin F. and Dorothy Van Dyke and a brother Edwin T. (Judy) Van Dyke.

Thomas J. Hoelzel, of Neenah, age 70, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Rennes Health Center in Appleton, following a yearlong battle with GBM brain cancer. He was born August 24, 1942 in Neenah, son of Reuben and Betty (Scherer) Hoelzel.
Tom married Sharon Kossel on September 15, 1962. He worked for 42 years at George Banta Co. until his retirement in 2002. Tom then worked for Bergstrom Ford for 8 years until retiring in 2011.
Tom was a Master of Lake Winnebago and was an avid fisherman of Walleye and Perch. He loved NASCAR and the Brewers and was an overall sports fan. Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha and currently a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah. He was also a member of the Graphic Arts International Union Local 77.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two children: Scott (Lea Anne) Hoelzel, Deborah (Tom) Galinsky; four grandchildren: Kiela Hoelzel, Chelsea, Aaron and Evan Glinsky; his beloved pet, Annie; five brothers and sisters: Beverly Meyers, Wayne (Shirley) Hoelzel, Linda Kersten, Barb (Dennis) Clow, Mike Hoelzel; his mother, Betty Hoelzel; a brother-in-law, Donald Kossel; sisters-in-law: Lucille Kossel, Ruthie Kossel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Reuben; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Obituary:
Surrounded by his loving family and fighting to live to the fullest to the very end, Michael J. Harp, 61, Combined Locks, took his last breath on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Appleton Medical Center. Multiple System Atrophy took him from us physically but his spirit remains in all those who knew and loved him, and there were many. He was seldom alone, he encircled himself with family and friends thanks to his outgoing personality and many interests. When his disease began to progress in earnest earlier this year, more than 1,000 people supported Mike and Lynn and their family at a benefit in their honor, engineered by the best friends anyone could ever ask for. He was in his glory that day, and ended the night with "the last dance" with Lynn, the woman he publicly declared "my love, my rock, my life and my wife." There wasn't a dry eye in the room as they swayed to the music. These friends and family members carried them through the next 6 months, helping fulfill many Bucket List items, from excursions Up North with the Amigos for fishing to an adventurous motor coach tour with Lynn. Life did not end with a diagnosis, it simply gained urgency. Mike was proud of his company, Harp Home Improvements, and you can see his work on many homes and cottages throughout the area. He followed in his Dad's footsteps with a love of the outdoors, and could give most anyone a run for their money at the dart board, the pool table or in a game of cribbage. But more than anything, he loved his family. Mike is survived by Lynn, his wife of 35 years, who never left his side when the going got tough; his children: Angela (Brandon) Raddant, Ben Harp, and Sam (Jennifer Hoelzel) Harp; his grandchildren: Spencer, Tyler, Grayson, Naomi, and Nora; siblings: Mary (Jeff) Harp-Jirschele, Marcy (Todd) Voss, Maureen (Ronnie) Williams, Marty (Karen) Harp, Matt (Ellen) Harp, and Mark Harp; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Barbara Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law: Brenda (Michael) Schumacher, Darrel (Deb) Smith, Dave (Donna) Smith, and Dale "Skip" (Deb) Smith; nieces and nephews: Matt McCarty; Jason Bogenschutz; Alex, Annabelle and Margaret Harp; Garret Harp; Nicole, Matt, Kate, and Luke Schumacher; Coy, Cas, and Cal Smith; Alex and Autumn Smith; Jake, Hannah, Maggie, and Sarah Smith; many other family members and very special friends.
