Obituary:
Joyce I. Tickler, age 93, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. She was born August 27, 1915, daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Alvord) Carter. She graduated from Appleton High School, attended Kaukauna Normal and taught in one room schools in Outagamie County. She married John W. Tickler on June 27, 1940. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death on March 28, 2003.
She was always very involved in her church. She taught Sunday School, played the organ, and sang in the choir. She was a very faithful servant.
She is loved and remembered by: John Bruce (Sandi), Harold "Fuzzy" (Janice), all of Black Creek; and Barbara (Bart) Jordano, Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren: Tammy (Tim) Haefs, Todd, Tony (Karen) Ted Tickler, Jim and Lisa Jordano; great-grandchildren: Trena Haefs, Bryce and Caleb Tickler; sisters-in-law: Elna Carter, Dorothy (Mel) Meyers, Dorothy Tickler; brothers-in-law: Earl Tickler and Bill (Ceil) Tickler.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her twin brother Jesse, her brother Glen and sister Hazel Jenness.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Trinity United Church of Christ, W6712 County Road F, Shiocton (Leeman) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been set up for Heartland Hospice.
