    Obituary:
    Larry L. Strey, age 54, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born on February 7, 1956, in New London, son of Harold and June (Beschta) Strey. Larry attended Hortonville High School, graduating in 1974. On November 17, 1979, he married Nancy Griesbach in Appleton. Larry worked for Curwood in New London for 26 years, where he would become a supervisor. He was also a firefighter and Safety Captain for the Greenville Fire Department for over 30 years. Larry loved being outdoors, hunting, camping, classic cars and attending car shows.
    Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Cory (Amanda) Strey; his parents, Harold and June Strey; two sisters, Sheryl (Randy) Asman, children, Marissa and Jeremy, and Karen (Dave) Syring, children, Angela, Ashley, and Amy; one brother, Randy (Karen) Strey, children, Savannah, Falyn, Grace, Summer Gorges, and Logan (Tina) Gorges, with son, James; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon (Alvin) Rathsack, children, Brian (Sally) Rathsack, children, Ella, Harris, and Miles, and Tina (Jeremy) Krueger, son, Mason; and many other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal; his mother- and father-in-law, Floyd and Mary Griesbach; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Ethel Beschta; step-grandmother, Helen Beschta; and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Linda Strey.
    The funeral service for Larry will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at IMMANUEL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, W7265 School Road, Greenville, with Rev. Joel Heckendorf officiating. Friends may call at church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Hortonville, will be private. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Martha Siekman Cancer Center, Dr. William Guenther, and the Greenville Fire Department and First Responders for their care, compassion, and support, and also to Rev. Joel Heckendorf and Rev. David Scharf for their spiritual support.

    You were our rock in good times and bad. We'll love you forever. See you in paradise.
