From Find a Grave; (contributor unknown) John Kennedy was born in Toronto, Ottawa Canada, November 1837. He died May 27, 1908. From Toronto, his immediate family moved to Mallet Creek Twp. in Medina County OH. There, he and three brothers enlisted in Company K, 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, for Civil War service. One of them, Elton, is buried in Bovina Cemetery. Others, including Mary may be there also. It is possible that she may not have a headstone.

John married Stein, Mary 2 Aug 1870, , Outagamie County, Wisconsin, USA. Mary was born Abt 1849, , , Ohio, USA; died 3 Nov 1921, Bovina, Outagamie, Wisconsin, USA; was buried , Shiocton Bovina St. Denis Cemetery, Shiocton, Outagamie, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]

Mr. Kennedy died in 1907, at the age of seventy-three years and is buried in Bovina Cemetery. John Kennedy enlisted during the Civil War in Company K, One Hundred and Third Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, in which he served for a year and one-half, being then transferred to the navy, where he completed his service, being mustered out in Kentucky after a meritorious service on the gunboat Merrimac. He was an honored member of the Grand Army of the Republic, under the auspices of which he was buried. During his early life he had been a carpenter, but in his latter years was engaged in farming, an occupation which he was following at the time of his death. He and his wife had a family of four children: Elton, who died at the age of twenty years; Alnetta, who married Howard Andrews of Outagamie county and has five children; James, who married Marie Hinson and has two children, and Leon.

Mr. Kennedy's father purchased this farm in 1877 and erected all of the buildings, but since his death various improvements have been made. Mr. Kennedy is a member of the F. R. A. and is a republican in politics, at present being a member of the school board. With his mother and wife he is a consistent attendant of the Congregational Church of Ellington. Mr. Kennedy was married in 1905 to Miss Finetta Brooker, who was born February 8, 1883, daughter of Frank and Sarah (Arnen) Brooker, natives of England who were married in Wisconsin and are now living at Minocqua, Vilas county. They have had a family of eleven children, of whom Mrs. Kennedy was the seventh in order of birth. Lyle Manley, age 72 of Greenville, died unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, August 23, 2012. Lyle was born in the Township of Greenville on February 20, 1940, the son of Carlyle and Frances (Andrews) Manley. In 1958, Lyle married Betty L. Retzlaff. Lyle was a lifelong resident of the Hortonville and Greenville areas, working 35 years at Hortonville Wire Products as a truck driver and then for the Village of Hortonville until his retirement in 2005. Lyle enjoyed being social, family get-togethers, logging, taking pride in his lawn, spending time at his cottage on the Wolf River and boating. Later in life, Lyle developed a special love for cats.
