    Obituary:
    Susan L. Opsteen, 64, of Kimberly, passed away at Brewster Village, Appleton on Thursday, March 22, 2012.
    Susan was born on February 27, 1948 to Sylvester and Ruth (Ashauer) Jonen. She married Robert Opsteen on July 13, 1968 at Holy Angels parish Darboy. Sue was a very creative person who wrote poetry and enjoyed drawing flowers, mostly to share with other people. She also liked walking and visiting friends and neighbors. Sue appreciated life's many lessons and, in turn, enjoyed teaching and mentoring the people she spent time with. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church where she was active in her church community. Sue most of all loved her family and the time they spent with her will always be treasured.
    Susan is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Opsteen, three children; Ronald (Debra) Opsteen, Brainerd, Minnesota, Jean (Paul) Krueger, Neenah, John (Nicole) Opsteen, Smyrna, GA, four grandchildren; Ethan and Elliot Krueger, Rebecca Opsteen and Mazzy Opsteen, her brothers Ray (Florence) Jonen, Olympia, WA, John Jonen, Mt Pleasant IA, Steve Jonen, Hurley, Leon Jonen, Robert Jonen, Paul Jonen, all from Appleton area, a sister, Ann Jonen, Green Bay, special friends, Nancy and Judy, and many other relatives and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Mike and Mark Jonen and two young siblings.
    The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH (410 E. Wallace St. Combined Locks) with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday March 27, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.

    There are truly no words to express our sincere thanks to the staff, care givers, volunteers, and absolutely everyone at Brewster Village. Their compassionate care and support for Sue and her family will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brewster Village.
