Jungers, Fred J.Fred J. Jungers, Appleton, 92, died Wednesday evening, May 26, 2004. He w as born November 2, 1911, to the late Nicholas J. and Matilda (Krier) Jung ers, in Dacada, Wisconsin and graduated from Random Lake High School in 19 30. Fred graduated from the University of Minnesota Embalming School, in 1 932 and was employed at his father’s funeral home in Dacada for 4 year s. He married Loretta Freese on April 13, 1936; she preceded him in dea th on July 12, 2002, after 66 years of being happily married. Fred w as in business for himself and owner of his own funeral home in Wrightstow n, Wisconsin, from 1937-1943. Following this he was employed by Wichmann F uneral Home as an embalmer and funeral director for 32 years. Following h is retirement in 1974, Fred worked for several years at other funeral hom es in the Fox Valley. Fred was an avid sports fan and very active in softb all, bowling, golf and square dancing. He had been the president of the Wr ightstown Lions Club, president of the Appleton Optimist Club, a Dale Carn egie graduate and was a member of the Toastmasters.Survivors include four children, Bob and JoAnne Jungers, Fort Worth, Texa s; John and Phyllis Jungers, Appleton; Fred and Joan Jungers, Hot Sprin gs Village, Arkansas; Mary Damrow, LaQuinta, California; 12 grandchildre n, Mike (Debbie) Jungers, Karin (Jason) Salinas, Aileen (Lionel) Menchac a, Kari (Tim) Plass, Paul (Elizabeth) Jungers, Kate (Carl) Jackson, Mark ( Jeanette) Jungers, Lisa Jungers, Ann Jungers, Keith (April) Damrow, Rob (L isa) Damrow, Vikki (Gary) Hall; and 15 great grandchildren. He is furth er survived by two sisters: Genevieve Voigt, Manitowoc; Delores Sauer, Po rt Washington; and a sister-in-law, Edna Jungers, Stillwater, OK.The Parish Prayer Service for Fred will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3 0, 2004, at the funeral home with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Entombme nt will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home fr om 3 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service.
