b>Bruss, Cecile M. (Knoke)Cecile Marie Bruss, age 70, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at her home. She was born March 14, 1936, in Gresham, WI, daughter of Herman and Lucy (Lotharius) Knoke. She was a graduate of Gresham High School. Cele married John F. Bruss in 1956. He preceded her in death. She followed her husband in his Air Force career in New York, Wyoming, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Alabama, before retiring in Neenah. During this time Cele worked in developing the Family Services Program and was given awards and decorated by the Commander of the Tactical Air Command for the performance and growth of this program. Cele's love for golf drew her to a job at Winnegamie Golf Course where she and Mary Beth Nienhaus established a junior golf program, teaching hundreds of kids the game of golf. Cele has been a charter member of Pine Hills Golf Course for many years and acted as chairperson for most events for the Senior and Couples Golf Leagues. Cele was a member of St. Gabriel Parish where she coordinated the ministries of volunteers for the visits of the home bound parishioners. She also served on the Social Justice Committee. For the past five years Cele was an Affiliate of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration with the Mother house in La Crosse, WI. Cele dearly cherished her wonderful friends and neighbors as well as her family for all their help during a courageous battle with cancer. She expressed a special thanks to her hero and golfing buddy, Bob Geenen. Cele will be dearly missed by her brothers: James (Marie) Knoke, John (Illa) Knoke, Eugene Knoke, Herman Knoke Jr., Daniel (Carla) Knoke; and sisters: Alice Bruss, Marian (William) Moede and Anita Knoke. She was preceded in death by a sister: Loraine Jansen. Although Cele had no children of her own, she was loved by her many nieces and nephews as well as her little friends in her neighborhood. Funeral services for Cele will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday evening, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, at the church, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Francis Solanus Cemetery in Gresham.
