    Obituary:
    Glenn M. "Mike" Monroe, Kaukauna, age 73, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at home. He was born September 11, 1935, to the late Owen and Marion (Mattson) Monroe. On October 10, 1959, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Voelker in Klondike at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Glenn was an U.S. Marine Corps Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a mechanical engineer and was employed by Giddings & Lewis in Kaukauna and Voith in Appleton until his retirement. Glenn was active in scouting as a cubmaster, an avid outdoorsman, and liked to travel and go camping. The most important thing throughout his life was his family and he enjoyed being with his grandson Mitch.
    He is survived by his wife, Pat; Mark Monroe, Brampton, MI; Paul Monroe, Daytona Beach, FL; John Monroe, Kaukauna; and Jean Monroe, Little Chute; a grandson, Mitch; special family friends, Holly and Hannah Borchert. He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dan (Pat) Voelker, John (Marsha) Voelker, and Virginia Geske; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Henry and Stella Voelker; and a brother-in-law, Marion Geske.
    Glenn's Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday June 26, 2009, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Marty Fox officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Glenn's is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.
