    Obituary:
The Crescent Tues. Evening briefly announced the death on Tuesday morning, at an early hour, of Dr. George Bradley Black, and can now add several particulars relative to the deceased, who at the time of his death was about 70 years of age. When in his prime he was one of the leading physicians of Bloomington, Ill., where up to the time of the decease of his wife, he was at the head of a large infirmary, removing thereafter to a home in Mason City, Ill., and finally coming to Appleton and residing with his two sons and widowed daughter, his eldest son being Dr. Black, a specialist. Several years ago the deceased sustained an injury to his spine, which for five years had prevented his lying down and has been obliged to occupy a chair day and night, consequently a great yet patient sufferer. Under the assiduous care of his devoted daughter, who scarecly left his side for years, and his son's watchfulness at night, deceased was made very comfortable. His son was called away to Sheboygan and the father seemed to miss him greatly all day Monday, also devoting a greater part of the day in prayer. He did not appear to be ill although he did not desire the evening meal. A man watcher was with him all night and toward morning noticing a change called the daughter and younger son who were with him when he passed away, very quietly. Deceased had been a consistant, faithful member of the Methodist Church for fifty years, and has now entered into the rest for the weary. The funeral took place from the residence on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Lusher officiating, and the interment was at Riverside cemetery. The Crescent extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
