    Richard W. Ludke, age 81, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at the Chilton Care Center. He was born on March 13, 1928, in Silver Creek, son of the late Carl and Helen (Kohn) Ludke. He married Eleanor M. Anderson on December 19, 1948, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Almeana. He worked in the retail feed business all of his life, starting with Ludke Feed Service in Almeana. He then owned and operated a Ralston Purina feed mill in Lodi for eight years until 1973 when he moved to Chilton and became the mill manager for the Chilton CO-OP, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement in 1993. Dick enjoyed woodworking, cooking, fishing, church life, and cooking for his family.
    He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton, the St. Martin Men's Bible Study, and the Chilton Lions Club. Dick was an active church and community member, serving in various offices and capacities in all of the communities in which he lived.
    Survivors include his wife Eleanor, the love of his life; five children: Cindy (Mike) Meade of Milwaukee, Laurie (Dale) Johnson of Lodi, Julie (Joe) Clark of Lodi, Dawn (Dave) Schmidt of Chilton, R.C. (Laurie) Ludke of Chilton; a daughter-in-law, Ginny Ludke of Lodi; 12 grandchildren: Michael J. Meade, Jason (Summer) Meade, Chad (Joy) Files, Jared Files, Josiah Ludke, C.J. (Cathy) Davis, Kaitlyn Scott, Peter Clark, Adam Clark, Dylan Schmidt, Dayna Schmidt, Olivia Ludke; four great-grandchildren along with triplet boys and a baby girl on the way. Dick is further survived by his loyal four legged friend Ed.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen Ludke; and a son, Lynn Ludke. He was the youngest of 13 children, and was preceded in death by 12 siblings.
    Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Wayne Huebner officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Richard Ludke for St. Martin Lutheran Church and the Chilton Lions Club.
