    Betty Jane Behrent, age 84, of Appleton, God came and wrapped His heavenly arms around her and took her home on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Appleton Medical Center. Betty was born on May, 4, 1928, daughter of the late August and Bernice Peters. She was a proud graduate of Appleton West High School and on April 19, 1947 she married the love of her life, Larry Behrent, at Zion Lutheran Church.
    Betty enjoyed the outdoors; she was an avid camper and loved fishing. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, beading and her cats. She was also a member of the Gold Star mothers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
    She is survived by her three children; Jim Behrent of Kaukauna, Debbie (Paul) Jacobs of Menasha, and John (Robin) Behrent of Appleton; seven grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah Jacobs, Ashley and Amanda Behrent, and Samantha, Hollie, and Alex Behrent; great grandchild, Ryleigh Kolln; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Rice. Betty is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, David Behrent and Mark Behrent; two sisters-in-law, Cecilia Weiles and Helen (Ray) Bartowiak; and brothers-in-law Edwin "Bud" (Gen) Berhent and Stan Rice.
    The funeral service for Betty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN (573 N. Superior St). A time of visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    Betty's family would like to thank the nursing staff on the Appleton Medical Center's 8th floor for all their kindness and care.
