Syvilla "Skip" Sager passed away peacefully and gracefully from this world on September 16, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center. Born in Appleton, May 29, 1920 to Anna and Edmund Schroeder, she graduated as salutatorian of her class at Appleton High School in 1939. During World War II she worked as a fuselage inspector for the Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach, helping to build B-29s and B-17s. After the war, she returned to Appleton and married her true love, Robert Sager, in February, 1946. They remained married until Bob's untimely death in July, 1963. Skip worked for many years as the head cashier at Food Queen on Oneida Street, and then in accounts payable for the Paper Valley Hotel before retirement. Skip loved reading, knitting, and sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Chicago Bears, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Duke University basketball team. She was a good softball player, played tennis and golf, and enjoyed bowling well into her 80's.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Norman and Chester "Chuck" Schroeder, and one great grandchild.
Skip is survived by her daughters, Sharon Marion and Sandra (Jim) Glinski of Conway, Arkansas; Susan (Ian) Baker of Madison, Wisconsin and #1 son, James Sager of New London. Also grandchildren; Edward and Patrick Tolley; Brian, Robert, Christopher and Jeffrey Kalz; James Glinski Jr., Katherine "Cadie" Baker, Robert, Michael, Chelsea, Matthew, and Luke Sager and ten great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

"Mama, you are and will be truly missed, but lay your head down now. It's time to rest."
