Obituary:
Schroeder, Darryl Age 61, of Wrightstown, continued his journey to be with the Lord on May 1, 2015, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born on August 1, 1953 to Wilmer & Loretta (Bessert) Schroeder. Darryl graduated from East High School in Green Bay and attended UW-Green Bay. He worked in the propane gas industry for over 42 years, retiring from Ferrellgas. Darryl was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and playing cards. He was proud of his collection of die cast cars.
Darryl is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (nee Rafa); his mother, Loretta Schroeder; his step children: Scott (Julie) Frye, Bobbie Jo (Tom) Abts, Amy (Jack) Koehne, Martin Christensen, Joanna (Zack) Thompson and John Christensen; grandchildren: Blayne, Marisa Jo, Charity and Seth Abts, Kadyn and IllyAna Thompson, Brayden Welch and Peyton Syring; brothers: Duane (Evie) Schroeder and Dennis (Mary Kay) Schroeder; and sister: Donna (Ken) Heller. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Darryl was preceded in death by his former wives Bonnie (Haefke) Schroeder and Sue (LaPlant) Schroeder, and his father Wilmer Schroeder.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 8 at Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton, (601 E Glendale Ave) with Pastor Aaron Rosenau officiating. Friends may visit on Friday at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution can be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.
