Obituary:
Marian D. Lynch, age 95 of Appleton passed away on March 1, 2017. Marian was born on March 30, 1921 in Menasha Wisconsin to Elias and Lucy (Vrba) Bayer. She attended St. Mary Catholic School in Menasha. On November 4, 1940 she married Sylvester Lynch at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha and Sylvester preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. She was also a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #38, VFW, #2778, The Cooties, The Lady Elks of Menasha, and the Christian Mothers Society. She was also active in Girl Scouts and was a former scout leader.
She enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Big Lake in Gresham and winters in Port Charlotte, Florida. She also enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, reading and spending time with her family. She was an avid Packers fan and loved singing in the choir at St. Paul Villa.
She will be sadly missed by 2 daughters, Dianne (Dave) Lindemuth of Kaukauna and Deborah Schultz of Appleton, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, Virigie Pozolinski, Menasha, 2 sisters-in-law, Jan (Bud) Mayer and Betty (Steve) Talbot, as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Syl, two brothers and one sister, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.
There will be a funeral Mass for Marian on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Therese Catholic Church, corner of Morrison and Wisconsin Streets in Appleton with Fr. Ryan Starks officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00am to 11:00 am on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Menasha. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Oak Ridge Gardens for the loving care given to Marian while she was there.
