Obituary:
Menasha - Mildred Martha (Bechlem) Buhl, age 95, on the beautiful morning of Tuesday, June 26, 2018, God decided to take mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt & friend home to be with him in Heaven.
Millie was born on September 3, 1922, in Chilton, WI, the fourth of six children to Edward and Mathilda (Gerhartz) Bechlem. She graduated from Chilton High School and on November 4, 1944, she married Norbert "Gus" Buhl, at St. Augustine Church in Chilton. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1993, after 49 years of marriage.
She loved being on the water, especially at her son's cottages, gatherings of her family, playing games, reading, baking and cooking, going to the casino and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who gave her lots of love and enjoyment. Millie regarded family and friends as blessing from God, and the welfare of her family was always the most important thing. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha.
She is survived by her loving sons: Jim (Karen) Buhl, Fox Crossing, John Buhl, Appleton, Jeff (Suzanne Farnsworth) Buhl, Salt Lake City, UT; six precious grandchildren: Tim Buhl, Madison, Michael (Dana) Buhl, Muskego, WI, Amanda (Jeff) Borling, Duluth, MN, Jackie (Jason) Van Patten, Menasha, Mariesa and Christina Buhl, Santa Monica, CA; seven beautiful great-grandchildren: Emma, Grace and Avery Buhl, Sophia Lottemann, Autumn, Flannery and baby Gus Borling; her sister-in-law, Alice Bechlem, Chilton; many nieces and nephews who came to visit and call often; and many good friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sharyn Buhl, three sisters: Dorothy Bechlem, Margaret Dawson, Lillyan Vonch; and two brothers: William and Edward Bechlem.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 528 Second St., Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name for St. Mary's Catholic Church
