    Yvonne Grace Hassell daughter of Louis and Mary (Ducat) Verhagen was born in Kimberly WI. On February 21, 1934. Yvonne served proudly in the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War as a nurse after which she began her journey as a loving and devoted wife and mother of 9 children. She treasured every moment she spent with her family and in life grew a great passion for gardening where she would hear the birds sing in the earlymornings. She was a talented artist and loved to paint pictures for her children. She has the most beautiful soul any person could have. To know Yvonne was to truly love her. Her cherished smile could brighten any one's cloudy day. Her beauty radiated down as the beams of a bright sunshower. She will be missed deeply by all.
    Yvonne began her new journey in life on June 17, 2007, surrounded by her family after a valiant and courageous fight against cancer. Yvonne was proceeded in her journey by her parents Louis and Mary; an infant son, brothers: Averd, Marvin, Clayton, Harlen and his wife Ann; father-in-law Harold Hassell, brother-in-law's Kenneth Hennessey andCurtis Hassell.
    She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Russell Allen Hassell, Sr. Children Stephen Thomas Hassell of Menasha, WI, Allen Russell Hassell of Appleton, WI. Julie Ann Wittnik of Cottonport, TN. Janice Mary (Buck)Tousey of Winchester, WI. Russell Allen Hassell Jr. of Menasha, WI. BethAnn Hassell of Menasha, WI. Harold Louis Hassell II of Menasha, WI. Vincent Lombardi (Angie) Hassell of Menasha, WI. Grandchildren Kimberly and Stevie (Hassell) Marsh, Shannon, Ryan, Jill,and Jason Hassell, Eric Schauman, Johnny Wittnik, Sam and Shayna Chartier, Nicholas Tousey, Courtney Vanden Broek, Austin Hassell. Great-grandchildren Caitlin Marie Chartier and Brayden Jon Schinke. Brother Eugene (Rose) Verhagen, sisters Delores Hennessey, and Blanche (Richard) Verhagen. Sister-in-laws Donna Verhagen and Gladys Verhagen.
    A very special thank you to Theda Care Hospice Organization for your quality care. With you we were able to give our mother the care she wanted. We are so grateful you were there for us at any given moment. We would also like to thank Robin Madrid and Robin Sanders for the support they generously gave our family.We also extend our gratitude to all others who supported us through this journey.
    A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the Valley Funeral Home, with Rev. Dave Vande Hey officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-8 pm and again Thursday, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
    AFTER A WHILE

    for plans and futures have
    a way of falling down
    in mid-flight.
    After a while you learn
    that even sunshine
    burns if you get too much so
    you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
    And you learn
    That you really can endure
    That you really are strong
    And you really do have
    worth And you learn
    And you learn with every
    goodbye, you learn.
