    Helen G. Wagner, age 94, lifelong resident of Mineral Point, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville. The former Helen Finkelmeyer was born on Feb. 27, 1913, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Kieffer) Finkelmeyer. She married Henry Wagner in 1934 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1968. Helen was a member of St. Mary's-St. Paul's Catholic Church, the council of Catholic Women and the Legion of Mary. She graduated from Platteville Normal College and later from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She taught for many years at Lincoln School, Mifflin School and the Mineral Point Elementary School. She was a resident at the Mineral Point Care Center for the past two years. She enjoyed being with her family, cooking meals, occasionally a trip to the casino and attending her class reunions.
    Helen is survived by her daughter, Betty (Albert) Gleichauf; a son, Jerry (Sandra) Wagner, both of Mineral Point; her sister, Margaret Thompson of Greendale; grandsons, Wayne (Karen) Wagner, Mike (Lisa) Wagner and Tony (Debra) Gleichauf; granddaughters, Wendy (Tim) Singer and Tara Gleichauf; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Wagner, Brittany Gleichauf and Joey and Jennifer Singer; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; and a sister, Magdalene Goldthorpe on March 7, 1980.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. MARY'S-ST. PAUL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Father James Hinnen and Father David Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point.

    Helen married Wagner, Henry Joseph Aft 1931. Henry was born 23 Nov 1909; died 21 Oct 1968. [Group Sheet]
