Ruggles, Richard P.- Richard, age 80, of Appleton, passed away Monday, September 1, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1928, in Kaukauna, son of the late Glen and Ethel Ruggles. He married Jean Reimer September 13, 1952, sharing 52 years together before her death November 30, 2004. He was employed by Wisconsin Telephone Company and also Goodwill Industries for several years. In his early years Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. Richard served in the Navy and was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Richard is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: David and Barbara Ruggles of Larsen; two grandchildren: Kristi (Matthew) Strenn and Kelly (Mike) Guckenberger; three great grandchildren: Amara, Adler and Arden Strenn; special friends: Tim and Jean Pontow.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2008, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 233l E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Rev. Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Ruggles, David L. "Dave" 55, Larsen, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. He was born October 8, 1953, in Appleton, son of Richard and Jean (Reimer) Ruggles. He graduated from Appleton East High School in 1971. Dave married his wife Barbara on July 17, 1992. Dave recently retired this year and enjoyed being home with his dogs and cats. Dave's greatest love, besides his family, was woodworking. Dave also enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was an avid cook and baked amazing cheesecakes. His four-legged "kids" will miss his constant attention.
Dave is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters: Kristi (Matthew) Strenn, Kelly (Mike) Guckenberger, both of Appleton; stepsons: Donny (Stacey) Reblitz and Tim Reblitz, both of Phoenix, AZ. Dave was a grandfather to Amara, Adler, and Arden Strenn and step-grandfather to Tanner, Jackson, and Sadie Reblitz. He is further survived by his sister-in-laws: Deb (Kirk) Prasser; Paula (David) Fritsch; Lisa (Mike) Palm.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Jean (Reimer) Ruggles.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at New Hope Lutheran Church, 1850 American Dr., Neenah, with Rev. Jeff Prewitt officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service. Family and friends are also invited to David's home on Sunday, October 4, 2009, from 12:00 p.m. (until ?) to celebrate his life as he had requested.
The family wishes to thank the neurological staffs at Theda Clark Medical Center and New London Medical Center along with Theda Care Hospice. We are extremely grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of support from friends, neighbors and New Hope members.
Because of Dave's love of animals, memorial funds will be donated to the Neenah Animal Shelter, Fox Valley Humane Society and Beaming, Inc.
