    Patricia Louise Flanagan Baisch, age 85, Kaukauna, passed peacefully on August 2, 2010 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born in Appleton on June 22, 1925, the daughter of Matthias and Anna (Vandenberg) Schaefer. Patricia graduated from Appleton West High School. She worked for Wisconsin Telephone Company as a service representative prior to marrying David J. Flanagan on August 28, 1948. They enjoyed twenty-four years of marriage, until his sudden death in 1972.
    In addition to caring for her six children, Patricia worked for the Kaukauna Community Hospital as a Medical Records Librarian for twenty-four years, after receiving certification from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Nineteen years after David's death, Patricia married Stephen J. Baisch on February 10, 1990 and enjoyed twenty years of marriage together.
    Patricia is survived by her husband: Stephen Baisch, Kaukauna; five children: Michael (Vivian) Flanagan, Wrightstown; Kathy (Tom) Kilmartin, Newburgh, Indiana; Patty (Joe) Berghuis, Kaukauna; Dennis (Stephanie) Flanagan, Farmington, Maine and Dan Flanagan, Eagle River; eight grandchildren: Garret Flanagan; Matt, Mark and Katie Berghuis; Molly, Abigail and Ryan Flanagan; and Max Flanagan; two step-children: Jim (Karen) Baisch and Dr. Tim (Liz) Baisch; eight step-grandchildren: Rachel, Stephanie, Ryan, Joe, Stephen and Stephen Michael, Eric and Alicia; five step-great grandchildren and a half-sister: Colleen Rumble, Hanahan, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law: Betty Flanagan and Tess (Tom)Roberts. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
    Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband David J. Flanagan; a son: Tim Flanagan; a daughter: Mary Jo who died shortly after birth; a step-son: Michael Baisch; her parents; her step-mother: Ceil (Newland) Schaefer; two sisters: Ann (Schaefer) Long and Sister Nivard Schaefer; a half-sister: Sharon (Schaefer) Rupple; a half-brother: Matt Schaefer; two brothers-in-law: John "Jack" Flanagan and Pat Flanagan; three sisters-in-law and their husbands: Joan (Bud) Licht, Margaret Ann (Howard) Wright, and Mary Alice (John) Moore and a god son: Donny Long.
    The funeral liturgy for Patricia will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Father Tom Pomeroy and Father Jack Mullarkey will be officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the mass at the parish cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 8:30 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
    Over this past year we have been surrounded by the love and support of so many. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Home Instead, especially Phyllis, Nancy and Melissa; to the staff at Appleton Health Care Center, especially Autumn, Paula, Sandy and Suzette. We would also like to thank Dr. David Koeper, Kay Conradt and the staff of the Nephrology Clinic of the Fox Valley, the staff of the Kaukauna Clinic, especially Dr. Paul Russo and his nurse Sue. Our sincere thank you to the staff of the St. Paul Home for their care and compassion, especially Nancy and Jean, as well as the Hospice staff of Julie, Karen, Bonnie, Sandi, Ellen, Sister Dorothy, Sister Lois Ann and Sister Joy. Special thanks to John, Carol, Missy Verkuilen and Irma Van Stiphout for all they did for Mom and Steve.

    Schaefer, Mathias R. "Matt"
    Mathias Robert Schaefer, age 68, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009. He was born in Appleton on December 19, 1940, the son of the late Mathias Schaefer II and Lucille (Newland) Schaefer. After high school, Matt enlisted in the Army and served his country honorably in Germany. When Matt returned home, he worked for his family at Schaefer Dairy in Appleton for several years before becoming a self- employed milk distributor. On November 30, 1963, he married the love of his life, Ginny Esther. She precedes him in death. He then worked as a sales representative for Perfection Frames and Glass until his retirement in 1998. As a kid, Matt loved to spend time fishing at his family's cottage on Pelican Lake. Many years later, he and Ginny bought a cottage on Shawano Lake and spent most weekends there. Matt enjoyed playing cribbage, sheep head and poker. He was known for being a jokester and for his wonderful sense of humor. In 1985, Matt and Ginny moved to Lake Butte des Morts in Oshkosh where they enjoyed being outdoors. He was also a dedicated father and grandfather, who loved being married to his soul mate, Ginny.
    Matt is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Adam) Schaefer Kemps, Menasha; grandchildren: Mathias Tyler Schaefer Kemps and Hope Ginger Schaefer Kemps and sisters: Colleen Rumble and Patricia Baisch.
    Matt was preceded in death by his son, Mathias Schaefer and sisters: Nivard S.S.N.D., Ann Long and Sharon Rupple.
    A Memorial Service for Matt will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
