    Shirley E. Better, 88, of Kimberly, passed away on Friday, August 08, 2014 at Parkside Care Center. Shirley was born on November 12, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Anderson) Dietzen. She graduated from Kimberly High School and later went on to work as an accountant at Kimberly Clark. On June 16, 1951 she married Emil Better at Holy Name Catholic Church.
    Shirley enjoyed playing canasta with her card club and she loved spending time with her family. She also volunteered with the Ladies of Holy Name and during election session at the polls.
    She is survived by her son Jim (Gail) Better; four grandchildren Melanie (Mike) Hilt, Nicole (Jason) Gerend, Nathan (fiancé Kayla Hintz) Fink and Kayla Fink. She is further survived by her son-in-law Stan Fink; sister, Donna (Dick) Van Grinsven; brothers, Joe (Rose) Dietzen and Marvin Dietzen; sister-in-law, Mary Dietzen. She is also survived by Emil's family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emil; daughter, Ellen Fink; sister, Carla Wallace; brothers, Ken and Ron Dietzen; and sisters-in-law, Grace and Marcia Dietzen.
    The funeral liturgy for Shirley will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Holy Spirit/ Holy Name Church, 600 E. Kimberly Ave. A time of visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

    Obituary:
    Ellen E. Fink, 54, Kaukauna, passed away in her home on March 2, 2013 after a courageous 4 month battle with brain cancer. Ellen was born on June 3, 1958 in Appleton, WI to Emil and Shirley (Dietzen) Better. She was a graduate of Kimberly High School. On October 23, 1987 she married Stanley Fink at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly.
    Ellen was employed at Appleton Papers prior to starting her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, and horses. Many will remember her cut-out cookies with butter-cream frosting, schaum torte served with strawberries and ice cream, tater-tot casserole and fried bologna sandwiches. Two things Ellen was happy to accomplish after her diagnosis in late November was organizing her recipes and her Christmas ornaments.
    Ellen will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Stan, son Nathan (Kayla Hintz-Fiancée) Fink, daughter Kayla Fink, stepdaughter Heather (Adam) Sprangers, grandsons, Ben and Justin Sprangers, stepson Heath Fink, mother Shirley (Dietzen) Better, brother James (Gail) Better, niece Melanie (Mike) Hilt, and niece Nicole (Jason) Gerend.
    Ellen is further survived by Stan's family. Mother-in-law, Arlene Fink, Nick (Cathy) Fink, Lyle (Theresa Biesterveld-Fiancée) Fink, Thomas (Donna) Fink, Sandra (Kevin) Uitenbroek, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews as well as other relatives and friends and her dogs, Bailey and Nellie and Kayla's horse Smoochie.
    She was preceded in death by her father Emil Better and father-in-law Lyle Fink.
    Friends may call at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 3:00pm to 7:30pm. A memorial service will follow at 7:30pm with Deacon Mark Farrell officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.boettcherfamilyfuneral.com.
    Stan would like to thank his family and friends and Affinity Hospice for all the support they offered during Ellen's battle with cancer and everyone's love and prayers and all who attended The Ellen Fink Benefit on February 16th to celebrate Ellen's life.
    Ellen - Many people don't know how much you gave of yourself to others in your quiet, behind the scenes volunteer work. You never wanted to be front and center. You are front and center now in Heaven and we are better people for having known you.
    Never say goodbye. It is never goodbye.
