Obituary:
Gerald J. Peters, age 51, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, August 22, 2010. He was born December 23, 1958, to Aloysius and Eunice (Baeten) Peters. Jerry was a graduate of Kaukauna High School with the class of 1978. While in school he was active in sports and enjoyed basketball, baseball and tennis. Jerry held various positions at Thilmany where he was employed for 25 years. He fulfilled his dreams by sharing his love for landscaping and the outdoors while employed at Shade Today. On November 14, 1987, he was united in marriage to Julie Schroeder in Dale. Jerry loved times spent with family, especially his sons, Brett and Bryce.
Survivors include his two sons: Brett and Bryce Peters, Greenville; the loving mother of his children, Julie Schroeder; his mother, Eunice (Baeten) Peters; one brother, Raymond (Amy) Peters; four sisters: Diane Peters, Nancy Peters (Don Mohr), Debbie Peters, and JoAnn Buchberger (Fiance Mark Petras); two Godchildren: Ryan Onkels (nephew) and Olivia Fugarino (great niece); three nieces: Lisa (Anthony) Fugarino, Jennifer (Matthew) Sabee, and Colleen Peters; four nephews: Kyle Peters, Andrew Peters, Jared Buchberger, and Alex Buchberger; two great nieces: Jolie Fugarino and Savanah Sabee, and a great nephew, Anthony Fugarino.
Preceding him in death were his father, Aloysius and a cousin, Lee Peters.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 West Seventh St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received directly at church on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family.
