    Obituary:
    Eunice DeGroot, Kaukauna, age 90, passed away at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on Friday, September 4, 2009. Eunice was born in Kaukauna on June 12, 1919, daughter of the late Ernest and Antoinette (Giesbers) Modl. She graduated from the Outagamie County Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she received her degree in elementary education. During her career she taught at Necedah, St. John's in Little Chute, Cherry Hill in Seymour, Chappell School in Green Bay, and St. Mary's in Appleton. She loved polka music, dancing, traveling, stock car racing, sponsoring baton twirling contests, and being involved in family activities. Eunice married Francis "Mick" DeGroot on January 3, 1941, at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. He preceded her in death in 2004.
    Eunice is survived by her sister, Lucille (Gerald) Engel; two sons: Eugene (Jean) and David (Lauren); twelve grandchildren: Robert (Jessie), Sharon (Ben) Ross, Jeffrey (Angie), Mary (friend David), James (friend Lorraine), Kenneth (Michelle), Sue (Howard) Feldkamp, Michael (Traci), Thomas, William (Tracy), and Valerie (Steve) Edge; sixteen great-grandchildren, three step-great- grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Marvin, and sisters Mildred Hauser Gracyalny and Lorraine (Lloyd) Krueger, and a grandson Michael J. deGroot.
    The funeral liturgy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, where Eunice has resided the past nine and a half years.
    The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many caregivers at St. Paul Home who looked after Eunice, and special thanks also to Donna Wegner, Carla Frelich, and Lucille Engel. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

    Dave De Groot, age 71 of Kaukauna, passed away at his home on Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2016. Dave was born on October 7, 1944, the son of the late Francis and Eunice (Modl) De Groot. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, and over the years found endless hobbies and vocations. At one time he owned his own gas station, and at another time worked as a professional shipwreck diver. He loved being on the water, but maybe loved working on his cars and trucks even more. Later in life he took up race-walking. Dave retired from Pierce Manufacturing after nearly twenty years of employment.
    He is survived by four children: Sharon (Ben) Ross of Illinois; Mary (David Donohue) De Groot of Wauwatosa; Sue Feldkamp of Kimberly; and Bill (Traci) De Groot of Stockbridge. His grandchildren are: Nick, Drew, Andy, Jenny, Trevor, Paige, Dayne, Cade, James, Morgan, Izike, and Desi; there are also two great-grandchildren. His step-children (children of Lauren) are: Kris Furem of Kaukauna; Karl (Christy) Furem of Georgia; and Joel Jespersen of Oshkosh. He is also survived by a brother: Eugene (Jean) De Groot of Randolph; and by Lauren's brothers and sisters: Chris (Bob) O'Keefe, Gail (George) Skupniewicz, Keith (Lauri) Klein, and Richard (Cathy) Klein. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife Lauren in 2015.

    Gerald "Jerry" L. Krueger, age 63, of Lakewood, passed away April 11, 2010, peacefully at home with his family by his side. After High School, Jerry enlisted in the Army and served three years in Vietnam. He married Holly Hertzfeld on June 7, 1991. Jerry was an avid NASCAR fan. He also served his community by volunteering on the Townsend Fire Department and the Lakewood/ Townsend Ambulance. Jerry was also one of the founding members of the Lakewood Muscle Maniacs Car Club. He spent time in his garage working on classic cars, but most of his time was spent with his grandchildren.
    Jerry is survived by two sons: Shane (Judith) Krueger and Brian (Astin) Krueger; a step daughter, Kim (Jason) Schowalter; a brother, Randy (Diane) Krueger; two sisters: Carolyn (Cal) Kroes and Donna Wegner, five grandchildren: Haily, Lucas, Logan, Caiden and Alyssa.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Holly.
    Visitation will be held at Suminski-Weber-Hill Funeral Home, Wabeno, on Thursday, April 15th from 4 - 8 p.m. and again on Friday the 16th from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Suminski-Weber-Hill Funeral Home (715-473-3131) is assisting the family.
