    John F. Kugler, of Appleton. The Chicago Cubs lost their most loyal and devoted fan on Sunday, August 22, 2004 when John Kugler departed this world for his place in heaven. Born on February 2, 1921 to the late Michael and Anna (Kraft) Kugler along with his twin brother Joe, both men delighted in their Groundhog's Day birthday. Just as he lived his life, John served his country bravely and humbly during World War II (1942-45) and was decorated with the Bronze Star and the Oak Leaf cluster medals of bravery. On May 9, 1946, he married his sweetheart, Ann Hegel at St. Mary's Church in Kaukauna and they enjoyed a wonderful life together. He was employed as a wire weaver at Appleton Wire Works for 42 years. He completely enjoyed his retirement, and was always satisfied with the truest gifts of life: his wife Ann, his children, and grandchildren. He also delighted in his Cubbies, the Chicago Bears, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, crossword puzzles, card games, watching any sports program, weather forecasting, his rocking chair, playing pool with his grandkids, and polka music. He had a keen sense of humor, and was a joy to know.
    He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Hegel Kugler; his children: John Michael (Linda) Kugler, LaCrosse; Patricia Ann (George) Whitely, Middleton; and his tiger, Janet Marie (Steven) Seelow, Larsen; his grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jonathan Whitely, David, Maria and Grace Kugler, and Matthew Seelow; his sisters- and brothers-in-law: Grace (Mrs. Joseph) Kugler, Dorothy (Mrs. Lawrence) Kugler, Helen and Jerry Williamsen, and Frank and Margaret Napieralla; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna Kugler; and all his brothers and sisters: Michael (Leone), Lawrence, Ann (Ves) Schwanke, Viola (John) Van Wymeren, and his twin brother, Joseph; his family-in-law: Elizabeth and Josef Hegel, Elizabeth (Albert) Sachs, Mary (Ray) Wenzel.
    He was a gentle man who would rather open the door to let a fly out than to swat it, who carried a twinkle in his eye, and a song in his heart, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. To be sure, heaven is a happier place today with John in it. Who knows, dad, maybe in heaven there is some beer. We love you.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Affinity Hospice, especially to Dad's nurse Ellen, and to Dr. Misty Johnson, for the kindness, care, and concern shown to John during his illness.
    A Mass of Resurrection will take place 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 26th at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr., Appleton, with the Rev. Harold Berryman officiating.     Elizabeth J. Verbeten, age 72, pass ed away Sunday January 17th 1999, at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a le ngthy illness. Betty was born May 8th, 1926, in Kaukauna, daughter of t he late Bruno and Elizabeth (Reichel) Kraft. On August 7th, 1946, she mar ried Earl Verbeten at St. Mary Catholic Church, he survives. In her earli er years, Betty was a cook at Moasis restaurant in Little Chute. She a nd her sisters enjoy shopping at the St. Vincent de Paul Store, and Bet ty love spending time at the family cottage and playing bingo.     Audrey Landreman, Kaukauna, 75, passed away very suddenly on Friday, Aug. 24, 2007. Audrey was born in Kaukauna on March 6, 1932, daughter of the late Bruno and Elizabeth (Reichel) Kraft. As a young woman, Audrey worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills in Appleton, and later at Stokely Van Camp, and Romy's Nightingale. On Sept. 8, 1951, she married James Landreman in Kaukauna; Jim preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1989. She enjoyed working as a local crossing guard as well as volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul store. Everyone will remember Audrey as an avid fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Kaukauna Ghosts. She enjoyed feeding the many birds and small animals that visited her yard, and caring for her vegetable garden. Audrey was a member of the St. Mary's Altar Society and also sang in the choir for many years. Her two sisters treasured her ability to drive, since they did not - Audrey was designated to drive the threesome to the many rummage sales they visited.
    Audrey is survived by two daughters, Betty (Joe) Robedeaux and Karen (Bill) Mueller, both of Kaukauna; two sons, Gary (Sarah) Landreman and Mark (Jean) Landreman, both of Kaukauna; six granddaughters, Nikki (Bill) Boyd, Danni Robedeaux, Tammi (Mark) Bartels, Laurie Landreman, Sarah (Todd) Smits, and Amber Mueller; four great-grandsons, Taylor and Carter Bartels and Cameron and Braeden Boyd; two brothers-in-law, Larry (Maureen) Landreman, Ohio and John (Marilyn) Landreman, Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Landreman, Ohio and Joan Landreman, Kaukauna; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    Lawrence "Larry" C. Kugler Jr; 69, entered eternal life wrapped in the
    loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ the Lord. The world lost a kind, funny and witty man to Multiple Sclerosis. He was born September 6, 1941 in Appleton, son of the late, Lawrence Sr and Dorothy (Ulmen) Kugler.
    Larry started work at the Appleton Post Crescent as a young man, worked there his entire life and retired from there. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Appleton. When he was able, Larry
    enjoyed playing cribbage, poker, darts, and bowling. He loved his family and friends.
    He will be greatly missed by his brother, James C. Kugler, sisters, Eileen (Joe) Schmitzer, and Diane L. Kugler; his niece and nephew, Lisa (Doug) Wilke, and their daughter, Hailey, and Dan (JoAnn)
    Schmitzer, and their daughter, Khyleigh; his aunts, Cora Ulmen, Lucille Endter, Alice Smith, and Grace Kugler; his many cousins on the Ulmen and Kugler side and his friends. Waiting for him on the other

    She was married 50 years to the love of her life, Donald Joseph "Joe" Schmitzer, Jr. on August 1, 1964 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Appleton. Eileen graduated from Appleton West High School. She enjoyed working for the Appleton Public Library until she became a stay at home mom. Eileen was a loving wife and mother. Her family enjoyed Sundays at her parents playing games and sharing a meal with her siblings; along with many trips up to the family cottage in Grindle Lake, WI and weekends with long-time friends, Jon and Helen. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and going dancing with the girls. Over the years, Joe and Eileen enjoyed taking road trips and camping wherever they ended up. Eileen loved to hit the casino to play the slots, up until the end. She had many fond memories of tap dancing as a child and loved watching her granddaughter dance.
    She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Doug Wilke and their daughter, Hailey; son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Jo Ann and their daughter, Khyleigh. As well as her brother, Jim Kugler (Georgia Sierra); sister, Diane Kugler; mother-in-law, M. Louise Schmitzer; brother-in-law, Dave (Mary) Schmitzer; sister-in-law, Mary Kugler; niece, Patti (Brian) Vogt and their daughter, McKayla. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence "Larry" Kugler and father-in-law, Donald J. Schmitzer, Sr.
    A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Wichmann Funeral Home-Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Street in Menasha with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:00am until the time of service at the funeral home.
    The family would like to extend special thanks for the loving care from Cathy Shine, Neuroscience Group, Sara Plath, AMC and the Theda Care At Home Hospice team.

    Obituary:
    Ronald J. Doering, age 66, of White Lake and formerly of Kaukauna, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on August 19, 1946, in Appleton to the late Ralph and Margaret (Kraft) Doering. Ron was united in marriage to Nancy Brautigam on September 4, 1971, and they spent 41 years together. He graduated from Kaukauna High School, Milwaukee School of Engineering, UW-Madison, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970.
    Ron worked for numerous companies and ended with the Department of Defense in Milwaukee. He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, amateur "ham" radio, and restoring old radios. Ron loved spending time with his family and friends. He could talk to anyone and often did. He was involved in the American Legion Riders, Patriot Guard, and Rolling Thunder.
    Ron is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy; sons, Michael (Shelly) Doering and Steven (Amy) Doering; grandchildren, Alexa, Hailey, Carlee, Bryce, Lance, Natalie, and Gabriel; siblings, Carol Stepanski, Richard (Lyn) Doering, Dennis Doering, Leon (Mary) Doering, Diane (Cyril) Schmidt, Nancy (Charles) Weyenberg, Cathy (Kevin) Kavanaugh, Susan (Mark) Vander Heiden, Linda (Kevin) Wirth, Jane (Terry) Waters, and Jean (Steve) Leick. He is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Richard (Sharon) Brautigam, Thomas Brautigam, Mary (Louis) Thein, Susan Brautigam, Ruth (John) Van Meter, Carol (Clifford) Keating, Michael (Kathy) Brautigam, Steve (Marsha) Brautigam; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, many godchildren, all his ham radio buddies, and many friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Doering; brothers-in-law, James Stepanski and Robert Brautigam; and sister-in-law, Beverly Brautigam.
    A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Pastor Buchanon officiating. A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. In Ron's memory, a memorial fund has been established.

    Kaukauna - Nancy A. Weyenberg, age 62, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018, after a strong and courageous battle against a brief illness. She was born on May 17, 1955, daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Kraft) Doering. Nancy married Charles Weyenberg on November 9, 1976. Together they celebrated 40+ wonderful years of marriage. Nancy was always laughing and smiling. She loved spending time with and spoiling her granddaughter. Nancy loved cheering on her Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed her sweets, a good thunderstorm, and shopping for deals at "Walmarket", the dollar stores and rummage sales. Nancy adored her husband, children, grandchild and siblings. They were her pride and joy. She loved them and they loved her. She enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.
    Nancy will be missed by her husband, Charles, two sons: Brian (Amy) Weyenberg of Wrightstown and Robert Weyenberg of Kaukauna and one granddaughter Aleah. Nancy will also be missed by her eleven brothers and sisters: Carol (the late Jim) Stepanski, the late Ron Doering (Nancy), Richard (Linda) Doering, Dennis Doering, Leon (Mary) Doering, Diane (Cy) Schmidt, Cathy (Kevin) Kavanaugh, Susan (Mark) Vander Heiden, Linda (Kevin) Wirth, Jane (Terry) Waters, and Jean (Steve) Leick. Six brothers and sisters-in-law; Richard (Louise) Weyenberg, Carol (Greg) Coenen, Janice (the late Eugene) Minten, Raymond (Janice) Weyenberg, Dorothy (the late Daniel) Lamers, and the late James Weyenberg (Beverly). She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret Doering; parents-in-law John and Anna Weyenberg, brother Ron Doering, brothers-in-law: Jim Stepanski, Eugene Minten, Daniel Lamers, and James Weyenberg.
