    Van Daalwyk, Urban C. "Barney"
    Urban C. Van Daalwyk "Barney", of 1111 W. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 2, 2005, at the Appleton Medical Center. He was born on December 11, 1915, in Kimberly, Wisconsin, son of the late Christian and Harriet (DeLeeuw) Van Daalwyk. For over forty-two years, he was employed at Kimberly-Clark's Atlas Mill in Appleton, retiring in 1978. During World War II, Barney served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60, Kimberly. An active man with a zest for life, Barney water skied into his 70s, was the captain of two bowling teams, loved to golf, fish, dance, and spend time with his family and friends. Many will recall his love for music, his ability to play the harmonica, and as a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers. In the late 1930s, Barney married the former Dolores VerKuilen. The couple was blessed with two children, and Dolores died unexpectedly on September 21, 1940. Later, he became reacquainted with and married Cecilia Melcher who had recently lost her husband. The couple spent forty-six years together. She passed away on July 1, 1988. Barney was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. In the last years of his life, he met Helen Koller, who was his companion and sweetheart for the past seventeen years.
    Survivors include: his fiancee, Helen Koller, a daughter, Marlene "Kim" Hoheisel of Menasha; a son, Allan (Jean) Van Daalwyk of Oconomowoc; eight grandchildren: Mark (Kristi) Hoheisel, Laurie (Ian) Journeaux, Eileen (Kraig) Otto, Amy (Kevin) Walbrun, Christine (Dale) Wittmann, Heidi (Chris) Weiland, Dennis (Deanne) Van Daalwyk, and Cheryl (Darin) Tessier, twenty great-grandchildren: Matthew, Christopher, Zachary and Samuel Hoheisel, William and Daniel Journeaux, Corey, Ashley and Ryan Otto, Rebecca, Kaylee, and Alexander Walbrun, Austin and Chase Wittmann, Ethan and Haden Weiland, Kyle and Ryan Van Daalwyk, and David and Elizabeth Tessier. Barney is further survived by a sister, Gertrude "Toots" Martin, two sisters-in-law: Marie Van Daalwyk and Mildred Van Daalwyk, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlene's husband, John Hoheisel, a great-grandson, Kraig Walbrun, eight brothers and sisters: Chris (Audrey) Van Daalwyk, Harriet (Bob) Stroope, Minnie (Ted) Kemps, Marie (Bud) Hoffman, Jake Van Daalwyk, Martin Van Daalwyk, Ann (Ray) Schmidt, Joseph (Marcy) Van Daalwyk, brothers-in-law: Philip Martin, Henry Kilsdonk, and Clarence Gerrits, and a sister-in-law, Mary Van Daalwyk.
    The funeral liturgy for Barney will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2005 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH -- HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Thomas Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery where members of William Verhagen Post #60 will provide military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and again at the church on Friday from noon until the hour of the services. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Marlene "Kim" C. Hoheisel
    With unwavering faith, Marlene Hoheisel, age 76, of Menasha, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long courageous fight on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Parkside Care Center. She was born on May 4, 1938 in Little Chute, to the late Urban and Delores (Verkuilen) Van Daalwyk. On October 8, 1958, Marlene married her high school sweetheart John Hoheisel. She enjoyed her schooling in Cosmetology and working as a beautician in salons, and later in floral design. Kim used every opportunity to be a witness for Christ by always ministering and caring for others.
    She is survived by her children: Mark (Kristi) Hoheisel of Menasha, Laurie (Ian) Journeaux of Plover, Amy (Kevin) Walbrun of Grafton, Eileen (Kraig) Otto of Menasha, Christine (Dale) Wittmann of Appleton, and Heidi (Christian) Weiland of Menasha; 16 grandchildren: Matthew (Maria) Hoheisel, Christopher (fiancé Melissia) Hoheisel, Zachary Hoheisel and Samuel Hoheisel; William Journeaux and Daniel Journeaux; Rebecca (Michael) Walter, Kaylee Walbrun and Alexander Walbrun; Corey, Ashley, and Ryan Otto; Austin Wittmann and Chase Wittmann; Ethan Weiland and Haden Weiland; two great grandsons Benjamin and Lucas Walter; and brother Allan (Jean) Van Daalwyk. Marlene is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother Cecelia (Melcher) Van Daalwyk, husband John, and grandson Kraig Walbrun.
    The memorial service for Marlene will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 9, 2015 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL. Rev. Joe Pullen will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    She lived and believed Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
