    Obituary:
    Alyce Marie Drath, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008 (four days before her 84th birthday), at New London Family Medical Center, following a short illness. Alyce was born July 31, 1924, in New London daughter of the late William and Loraine (Polzin) O' Connell.
    She married Vincent H. Drath on June 24, 1944, sharing 46 years together before Vince's death on October 11, 1990. Alyce worked as a grocery clerk for many years and enjoyed her customers. She also enjoyed time with her family, friends and playing her favorite game of dice. She had many fond memories of times spent with special cousins: Jan (Jim) Krueger, Rita (Leo) Biesterveldt, the late Germaine (Ron) Leist and special friend Mabel Pucinelli.
    Alyce is survived by daughters and son-in-laws: Pamela (Toby) Dent, New London; Peggy (Robert) Ebben, New London; and Tina (Alan) Heuer, Marion; nine grandchildren: Kay (Dean) Arndt, Ronald (Kris) Drath; Jamie (Julie) Dent, Jody (Angela) Dent, Jana (Tom) Christian, Brian (Tori) Beyer, Jeremy, Jennifer and Jesse Heuer and fourteen great-grandchildren: Tara and Patrick (Mandy) Gorman, Danielle Drath, Jason and Sydney Dent, Nicholas Tocco, Addison Dent, Jenna and Morgan Christian, Madilyn, Maci, Landon and Emma Beyer and Madison Schweitzer. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Lucille Drath and Betty Drath and numerous cousins.
    Besides her parents and husband, Alyce was preceded in death by a son Robert, a grandson Joshua Heuer, two brothers-in-law Dale Drath and Vernon Drath and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Arleen (George) Nuske.
    A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 7 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Fr. Norm Krutzik officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
    The family thanks the staff at Theda Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph Residence and New London Family Medical Center for their wonderful care and a special thank you to Dr. Schlais, her family physician for his many years of care and also Dr. Schuler for her care and concern during Alyce's final days.
