    Biography:
    ALBERT VOECKS, secretary of the Aid Association for Lutherans, is one of the wellknown citizens of Appleton. He was born in Pomerania, Germany, July 29, 1867, a son of August and Marie (Wallman) Voecks, who brought their family to America, in 1882, locating in Appleton, where Mr. Voecks was engaged in wagon making until his death in 1907, his wife having passed away twenty years before. Both were members of the Lutheran Church, of which Mr. Voecks was a trustee for many years. They had a family of six children, of whom three came to the United States: Albert; Marie, who died in 1889; and Minnie, the wife of William Henning of Appleton. Albert Voecks attended the public schools of Appleton, and later went to night school while working in a printing office. He continued to be employed as a printer until 1902, when with G. D. Ziegler he organized the Aid Association for Lutherans, an insurance association for members of the Lutheran Church, which started with 603 members in 1903, with money on hand aggregating $2,291.98, and on March 21, 1911, showed a statement of 6,454 members and cash on hand $212,102.55. This association was organized to pay death and sickness benefits, and now operates in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. On October 4, 1899, Mr. Voecks was married to Caroline Goetz, of Cadott, Wisconsin, and they have five children: Herbert, Walter, Victor, Marie and Carl. The family is connected with the Lutheran Church, and Mr. Voecks is president of the Lutheran congregation .

    Biography:
    EMIL VOECKS, a progressive young business man of Appleton, Wisconsin, who is a partner in the meat market establishment of Voecks Brothers, at No. 716 College avenue, is a son of Julius and Augusta (Gruenewaldt) Voecks, natives of Germany. The parents of Mr. Voecks came to the United States in 1869 and settled in Appleton, where Mr. Voecks' father was engaged in wagon making until his retirement. Julius and Augusta Voecks had the following children: Annie, who was born in 1869, and died at the age of twenty-eight years; Herman, born in 1871, who is engaged in the meat business with Emil, married Elizabeth Hegner; Emil, born in 1873, married (first) Cecile Klein, deceased, and married (second) Mrs. Bertha (Hagen) Hale, and has three children, one being deceased; and Emma and Minnie, who reside at home. Emil Voecks received a public school education, and as a young man learned the meat business, being located with Wenzel Neuzebauer from 1891 until 1894, in which year the latter sold out and a partnership was formed between Mr. Voecks and his brother, Herman, an association which has continued with much success to the present time. The firm enjoys a large patronage, which has been built up through honest business methods, fair dealing, and qualifications which are necessary to the successful operation of a meat business. Both the brothers vote independently, and like the other members of the family are connected with the Lutheran Church. Emil Voecks is a member of the Elks and the Eagles, and also holds membership in the Appleton Maennerchor and German Harmony Society.

    Voecks, Robert K., Appleton, after 89 years, Robert Karl Voecks has left us on August 2, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer. He passed on in his home with those who loved him. Robert was born in Appleton on September 30, 1919. Robert was married to Ellen Williamson Voecks for 52 years until her passing in 1993. He was also pre-deceased by his son Robert Jr. in 1997. Robert was best known for his partnership in Voecks Bros. Meat Market, College Avenue, and the Park'n Market stores in Appleton and Neenah. Prior to entering the grocery business, Robert was an Army Air Force P-38 Pilot during WWII. Robert was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, talented woodworker, chef, pilot, artist and an all around unforgettable man and he will be missed immensely. Robert was a quiet, but never at a loss for a witty comeback or hilarious one liner. His family and friends are truly blessed to have known him.
    Robert is survived by his sister, Mary Volkert, Middlebury, Vermont; sons: Brian Voecks and Bill Voecks; six grandchildren, and his long time friend Joyce Kranzusch.
    Robert's wishes were for no funeral or memorial service, as he wanted to be remembered in life. The family is requesting that donations be made out to: Community Hospice Foundation, 1818 N. Meade St.. Appleton, 54911.

    Stanley Voecks 83, a resident of Wissota Springs in Chippewa Falls, formerly of Cadott passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013. He was born on January 20, 1930 in Appleton WI to Herbert and Sada Voecks. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1948 and moved to Cadott and started farming on the family farm shortly after he got drafted and served in the Korean War. In 1960 he purchased the family farm Ingleside Farms. He married the love of his life Janet Scheidler in 1978 and she passed away in 1992. He moved to Wissota Springs in Chippewa Falls in 2010.
    He was a member of St Johns Lutheran Church and served on the church council for 24 years (12 years as treasurer). He was a director of citizens State Bank, since 1963, served as chairman of the board in 1981 and retired in 2000. He was a member of the State and National Brown Swiss Association and a member of the Dairy Shrine Club. Survivors include one sister Marilyn (Jim) Mercer from Tennessee, one brother-in-law Russ (Gloria) Kazda from Chippewa Falls, four step children's Randy (Kay) Scheidler, Sharyl (Tim) McNamara, Dan(Tammy) Scheidler all from Cadott, and Ronette (Brian) Lehman from Medford, three nieces, one nephew, two granddaughters, seven grandsons, two step granddaughters, three great grandsons, and three great granddaughters. His greatest accomplishments were running Ingleside Farm, passing Ingleside onto another generation, and being a grandpa and teaching life long lessons onto all of his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Scheidler, his parents Herbert and Sada Voecks, nephews Jim Mercer and Chad Kazda.
    Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran church in Cadott with Rev. Raymond Bell officiating. Interment will be in Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott.
    Family and friends may call on Friday January 3, 2014 from 4:30-8:00 pm at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott and one hour before services Saturday at the Church.
    A special thanks to the staff of Wissota Springs and Wissota Health for taking such good care of him.
    In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred for St. John's Luther church or the Cadott Historical Society.
    Stanley will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

    Frederick V. "Fritz" Voecks, Kaukauna, age 71, died Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born in Appleton on November 16, 1944 to the late Fredrick and Mary Helen (Landgraf) Voecks. Fritz married Judith Brooks at Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna on May 26, 1978.
    He started Voecks Fox Valley Coin with his father and brother in 1964 in Appleton. They later moved to Kimberly and added jewelry. Over the years he and his family had many businesses, but his true love was always coins.
    In his free time, he enjoyed reading and computers. Fritz loved making people smile and telling stories. He always said "My job is to make people smile."
    Fritz is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Michelle (Lee) Griesbach of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Matt, Anna and Eric; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald (Mary Ann) Brooks and Jeanne (Tom) Selig. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Fritz was preceded in death by his brother, Randall.
