    Andrew C. "Andy" Dietzen Sr. Appleton, WI, age 60, died unexpectedly in Ohio on Monday evening June 8, 2009. He was born June 6, 1949, in Appleton, the son of John "Hans" and Alice Dietzen. Andy was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served hi s country in the Vietnam War. He was a trainer and mentor for Swift Transportation. His life was his family. He spent as much time with them as he could. Andy was always trying to make someone smile with his jokes and uplifting personality. He liv ed his life to the fullest with his family and friends always by his side.
    Andy is survived by his wife, Janice M. (Johnson) Dietzen, to whom he had been married for 36 years; son Andy Jr. and grandson Jake, Kaukauna; a daughter Angel and two granddaughters Lexi and Jordyn, Kimberly; son Alex, a student at the Universit y of Wisconsin-Madison; his two brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Judy, Eagle River; Ray and Carrie, Appleton; his brothers and sisters-in-law Jim and Carol Johnson, Racine; Judy and Mike Holzknecht, Kimberly; John and Sandy Johnson, Kimberly ; Connie Gilmore-Johnson, Freedom; Jolene Johnson, Appleton; his two godchildren Boyd Dietzen Sr. and Keri (Holzknecht) Verstegen; and many more family and friends.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and John Dietzen; his brother-in-law Jay Johnson; and his niece Trisha Holzknecht.
    Funeral services for Andy will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha. Friends may join the Family from 4 p.m. until the time of the services at the Funeral home.
