    Herb L. Holzschuh, 67, Minneapolis, Minn. died peacefully at home Octob er 17, 2001.
    Before attending college Herb volunteered four years in the Dominican Repu blic teaching agricultural processes. He received his Masters Degree in Ar chitecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1974. He retir ed from the City of Saint Paul in December 2000 after 20 years of service.
    He is a member of AIA, United States Submarine Veterans and the Mpls./S t. Paul Base Sub Vets.
    Herb's kind heart and gentle spirit will be remembered. He will be dear ly missed by all who knew him.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; brothers, Richard and Bla ne; and one sister, Holly.
    Survived by wife, Ellen; sons, Adam and Christopher; mother, Eleanor Holzs chuh; sisters, Alex Kinas and Julia (Michael) Loser; nieces and nephews.Vi sitation 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50 th St. & Vernon Ave. at Hwy 100. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Monday at the fun eral chapel. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

    Blane Gerald DeWane Holschuh, 52, Madison, WI, di ed August 18, 1989 at home after a valiant fight against a malignant tumo r. He was born Sept. 28, 1936, the son of Herbert and Eleanor (DeWane) Ho lschuh. On September 12, 1978 he married the former Marilyn Claire Pee tz in Madison. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn: his children, Jery, Aimee, Patric ia, Douglas, Michelle, Benjamin, Melissa, Andre, and Ramon Holschuh. Chri stopher Long and daughter-in-law Tia Long; his grandchildren, Marissa a nd Joseph; his parents; a brother, Herbert Holschuh, Minneapolis, MN; t wo sisters, Alex Holschuh, San Francisco, San Francisco, CA., Julie Quinta l, Green Bay; and many caring nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard, and a sister, Holly Chr isteman, Wauwautosa, WI. Blane grew up in Green Bay, WI and attended St. Joseph and Annunciati on Grade Schools and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 195 4. In 1955, he joined the Norbertine Order in DePere and was ordained a p riest in 1963. He served as a teacher, counselor and administrator in t he Norbertine Order atAbbot Pennings High School and at St. Norbert Abb ey as Master of Professed until 1971. He formally left the priesthood a nd began doctoral studies in counseling in 1971 and received his Ph. D. in 1980. Professionally he worked in private practice as a family therapist at M adison Counseling Services from 1973-1984 and at Affiliated Psychologic al Resources from 1984-1989. He was also on the staff of the Crises Inter vention Service at the Mental Health Center of Dane County from 1978-198 9. Blane was active in Boy Scouts, Regent Soccer Club and the Unitari an Society. He was co-chairperson with his wife, Marily of the Adoptive P arent Group of Southern Wisconsin. He was a man of extraordinary gener;os ity and loving, and did much work in the area of promoting adoption and wo rking with children with special needs. He was an excellent public speak er and teacher in the field of mental health and adoption. Friends may call at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison, fr om 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. Funeral 10:30 a.m. at Westminster Presbyteri an Church, 4100 Nakoma Rd, Madison with the Rev Michael Schuler of the Fir st Unitarian Society officiating. A potluck picnic will follow at Vilas P ark Shelter. In lieu of flowers, friends have established a children's ed ucation memorial fund. Contributions can be made to the Holschuh Children 's Education Fund, Valley Bank, 222 W. Washington Ave, Madison, WI.
