    From Glimpses of the past 8/13/2009 - 70 Years ago this week - 1939; Fire destroyed the barn and all other buildings, except the house, on the farm of Elmer Broeren in the town of Holland. It was the fourth fire in the county within a week. Barns on the farms of William Joyce, Joseph Libal and A.J. Ley also were destroyed by fire.
