    MARQUARDT, CLIFFORD K. "Cliff"
    Clifford K. Marquardt, age 81, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010. Cliff was born on August 9, 1928, in Fremont, to the late Walter and Olga (Klug) Marquardt. He married Lucille Sommer on September 30, 1950, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Fremont. Cliff was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as member of the 630th Engineering Light Equipment Company during the Korean Conflict, earning a Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and a United Nations Service Medal with two Overseas Bars. Cliff was a member of the Fremont-Wolf River American Legion, Post #391. He was employed at Kimberly Clark Corporation for over 40 years, retiring on June 30, 1988. Cliff was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, boating, deer hunting and especially the time he spent with family and grandchildren at the cabin near Three Lakes. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, cribbage and the 18 winters he and Lucille spent in Naples, Florida. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lucille; his son, Tom (Ruth) Marquardt, Grand Chute; his daughter, Sally (Jeff) Van Camp, Freedom; his grandchildren: Andrew, Jonathan and Zachary Marquardt and Cameron, Courteney and Coleton Van Camp; his brother, Loyal Marquardt, Fremont; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kester, Wilmar (Ginny) Sommer, Melvin (Elaine) Sommer, Henry Jr. (Darlene) Sommer and Orla (Steve) Tolleson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wallace (Anne) Marquardt; his sister, Loraine (Francis) Pieters; his sisters-in-law, Geraldine Marquardt and Valeria (Clifford) Oppor; and his brother-in-law, Earl Kester. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 East Glendale Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Paul Brinkman officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. A memorial has been established in his name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Carolina Manor and the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice, his caregivers, friends and family, for their loving care.
