Thomas R. Farrell, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at a local n ursing home. He was born on Jan. 3, 1913, in Green Bay, to John and Alma ( Deuster) Farrell. Tom married Viola Fox in 1939 on Thanksgiving Day, at S t. Patrick's Catholic Church in Askeaton. He served on the Green Bay Fi re Department for 22 years and retired as Captain, remained the oldest ret ired firefighter in Green Bay at the time of his death.Tom is survived by his children, Dennis (Carolyn) Farrell, Nova Scotia; Ka thleen Wallerstedt, Omaha, Neb.; Margaret Onopa, Tampa, Fla.; Betty (Rober t) Miller, Alamo, Calif.; and John Farrell, Green Bay; 14 grand-childre n; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Judge Richard Farrell and his si ster, Margaret (Farrell) Bullock.Friends may attend visitation on Friday, March 7, 2003, from 10 to 11 a.m ., at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez. Mass of Chri stian Burial follows on Friday, March 7, 2003, 11 a.m. at the church wi th Father Paul Demuth officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Howard Memor ial Park.The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Manor C are West and the Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion given to T om during his stay.Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home (432-4841) is assisting Tom's family wi th arrangements.
