Dear Jay, Please allow me to briefly recap. Carl DeGroot, my grandfather, is the son of Barney/Bernard DeGroot & Christine/Christina Hermans. Christine died shortly after my Grandpa was born & Barney married Christine's sister Catherine Hermans.
Christine was born in Maasbree, Limburg, Netherlands. Catherine was born in DePere, WI. Christine & Catherine Hermans' parents are Carl/Charles Hermans & Jacoba/Cora Jacobs. I found the name Cora on 2 documents, one of Christine's & one of Catherine's. Mom remembered the name Jacoba & the name Jacobs when she heard them. Maasbree is only about 30 miles from Reek, North Brabant, Netherlands where Henry DeGroot (father to Bernard) was from.

The spelling of Christina's Mother's first name was most assuredly "Cora" however, I wonder whether she took the name Cora in later years or if it was mistakenly transcribed on entry and should have read "Coba" as the letters B & R could be easily mistaken when written in capital form.
I am confident that this Death Registration is indeed that of my Great Grandmother "Christine" Hermans DeGroot (as the family refers to her) as I already knew from existing family records that her husband is Bernard DeGroot and that she is buried in the DeGroot Family Plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Wausaukee, Wisconsin. I have visited this grave with my mother, grandmother & uncle. The dates listed on this headstone for "Christine" are 1866 - 1901.
I did not have time to research the Birth Records of Brown County, Wisconsin.

I believe this to be the marriage record of my Great Grandfather Bernard DeGroot to his second wife Catherine Hermans. Catherine is the sister of Bernard's first wife Christine, who died in 1901 in Marinette County, WI. In this Brown County Marriage Record, the name of "Cora Jacobs" as Anna C.'s mother matches the name of Christina Hermans' mother in Christina's Marinette County Death Record. As I mentioned earlier, I still think it possible that the name "Cora" could have been mistakenly transcribed in both records. I also believe it's probable that Anna C.'s father's first name was intended to be an abbreviation for Charles, as written in Christine's Brown County Marriage Record. As for Bernard's mother, Petronella easily translates into Nellie.
The "Place of Marriage" is truly interesting, since Wausaukee is in Marinette County, yet this is a Brown County Marriage Record. My Great Grandfather, Bernard, was living in Wausaukee at the time of his marriage to Catherine Hermans. I wonder whether the "Additional Circumstances" of February 14, 1903 could be a Civil Ceremony in Wausaukee which was followed by a Catholic Ceremony in DePere on February 23, 1903. I did not go back far enough in the Marinette County Marriage or Birth Records to make this determination. However, I was given the marriage date of February 23, 1903 by Judith DeGroot (wife of Charles DeGroot, 2nd cousin to my mother). Where Judith obtained this date, I do not know. All in all, I am reasonably certain that this is the Marriage Record of my Great Grandfather to his second wife, Catherine Hermans (sister of Bernard's first wife, Christine). Finding Catherine's Brown County Birth Certificate will answer much.

I am certain this is the Death Certificate of Catherine Hermans DeGroot, 2nd wife to my Great Grandfather Bernard DeGroot & sister to his 1st wife Christine Hermans DeGroot. My Catherine Hermans DeGroot is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in the DeGroot Family Plot. Her headstone reads "Catherine" with the the dates of 1881 - 1946. To my family's knowledge, Evergreen is the only cemetery in Wausaukee. My Catherine Hermans DeGroot raised her sister's daughter, Caroline, who married Anton J. Edelbeck & lived in Wausaukee.
I find it more than coincidence that the parents for Anna C./Catherine Hermans DeGroot and for Christine/Christina Hermans DeGroot play off each other in their Marriage & Death Registrations: Carl/Charles/Clus. Hermans & Cora/Jacoba Jacobs Hermans.
According to Kaukauna & Fox Cities Families Carl Hermans was born in the Netherlands.

He apparently suffered a seizure while drinking coffee at the kitchen table. Hermans was born in DePere June 9, 1879, and lived in Kaukauna for the last 43 years. Also born to this union were 2 deceased childre n, Judith May & Catherine Ann. Theodore "Carl" died July 1, 1971. Mary " Leone" Thompson is the daughter of Corda May Dennis & Roscoe Hershel Thomp son. Leone Thompson died in the early spring of 2000. Bernardus Linders had 3 of his children, Henric us, Anna Maria & Christina, with him on this journey. They arrived safe ly in the DePere area of Wisconsin in 1866. Bernardus Linders daughter Joh anna, apparently made the journey in 1867, with her husband Johannes VanVo nderen & 3 small children. Petronilla "Pat" C. Sesolak, age 98, of 50 Wolverton Ave. Ripon, WI., formerly of Stockbridge, WI and Merrillan, WI, passed away Friday evening, March 4, 2005. She was born April 1, 1906 in Wausaukee, WI. daughter of Martin and Jennie (Vande Hei) Hermans. On June 13 1929 she married John S. Sesolak in Kauk., WI. Pat had been a hydo-therapist and nurse for Milwaukee County and Oconomowoc sanitarium. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She worked hard for the war effort, was a Victory Volunteer in 1945, was the first Victory Block to Achieve 100% war bonds sales and was awarded a treasury citation memorial honoring 7 Milwaukeeans who lost their lives in WWII. She was a Block Warden in the City of Milwaukee and was on the Civil Defense and Disaster Commitee. Pat and her husband helped many people by allowing them to live with them while they went to school or were looking for housing and employment. Pat loved the outdoors, was a historian and loved to travel. Survivors include her daughter in law, Pauline Sesolak; son in law Doug Dvorak; grandchildren: Don (Bonnie) Wissing, Sue (Dave) Florek, Randy Dvorak, Connie (Dan) Shepardson, John (Sue Sesolak, Cindy (Joey) Sesolak-Hertsfeld and Cherrie (Don) Penza; 14 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, John; son, Jack; daughter Gerladine Dvorak; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Gravesid service will be held at 10:30 a.m Mon. John M. Hermans; 207 Elm St. Kaukauna Age 67, died Sunday morning after a short illness. He was born June 22, 1908 in Wausaukee, WI. He was employed by the Thilmany Pulp and Paper Mill until his retirement. Mr. Hermans had lived in Kaukauna most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 41, Kaukauna. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hostettler Hermans; two daughters: Mrs. Richard (Rosalie) Hietpas; and Mrs. Leroy (Sandra) Fieck, both of Kaukauna; a brother, Walter Hermans, Milwaukee; three sisters; Mrs. Caroline Natrop, Kaukauna; Mary Hermans, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Peterinilla Sesolak, Merrillan, WI; and 4 grand children.. the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wed. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Walter L. Hermans 426 N. 28th St. Milwaukee, WIAge 70, died Saturday morning. He was born April 2, 1911, in Wausaukee, Wis. He lived in Milwaukee for the last 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for the Milwaukee Road for 30 years. Survivors include 3 daughters, Nancy Stark, San Diego, CA, Carrol Hermans, Latham N.Y., and Kathleen Hermans, Milwaukee; 2 sisters, Mrs. Peter (Caroline) Natrop, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Pat Sesolak, Merrillan, WI., and 2 grandchildren, richard and Keith Stark. I only saw her a few times in my life, but she made a great impression upon m e. She will be buried on Wed, Nov. 12, in Racine, WI. Sister Avita outlived all of her other siblings.

BURIAL: I am sure that if (as I suspect) Francis is the daughter of my Cat herine Hermans & Bernard DeGroot that she is buried in the DeGroot Fami ly Plot of Bernard DeGroot, located in Evergreen Cemetery, Wausaukee, W I. There is no marker for Francis in Evergreen Cemetery and unless she h as been recently added, there is no record of Francis being buried ther e. What I do have are other records & some sound logic.
Fact: Many of Evergreen Cemetery's records were lost in a fire.Fact: Bernard DeGroot buried his first wife Christina/Christine in his De Groot family plot, in the year 1901.Fact: Catherine, the mother of Francis, had already buried her husband Be rnard DeGroot, in this family plot, in January of 1917.Fact: Francis died in March of 1917, and was buried in Wausauk ee by A. P. Bunker. The records of A. P. Bunker were not as complete as t hey needed to be, in order to compensate for the loss of Evergreen Cemeter y's records.Fact: 1st hand, family accounts state that in 1934 & 1943, two infant gra ndchildren of Bernard & Christina were buried (in unmarked graves) in Bern ard DeGroot's family plot.Fact: The cemetery records, for these 1934 & 1943 burials, were lost in t he above fire and only recently re-added to the cemetery records.Fact: The names of these grandchildren have only recently been adde d, by their siblings, to the headstone of their parents (Theodore Carl & M ary Leone DeGroot, who are buried a small distance from Bernard DeGroot 's family plot).Fact: Francis' mother, Catherine, was buried there, in Bernard's family p lot, in 1946.Fact: Bernard & Christina's son, Henry (who remained single), was buri ed in Bernard's family plot, in 1966.Fact: Bernard & Catherine's daughter, Cecilia (who remained single), w as buried in Bernard's family, in 1998.Fact: There is a place reserved, in Bernard DeGroot's family plot, for t he burial of Sister Avita, daughter of Bernard & Catherine.My Mom (born & raised in Wausaukee) knows of no other Wausaukee Cemetery.Common sense tells me that Francis was laid to rest near her father, in h is family plot.

Francis was born on July 28, 1916. She was the last child born to Catherine and Bernard. She had a brother, named Christian, and two sisters named, Cecilia and Helen. Helen became Sister Avita of the Dominican Order. There are no other descendants from the union of Catherine and Bernard DeGroot. Francis also had five brothers and sisters through Bernard's previous marriage. They were as follows: Johanna Carolina, known as Caroline, Henry, also called Hank, Theodore Carl , known as C arl , Petronella, who was called Nell and William. Their mother was Christina, sister to Catherine, who was born November 12, 1866 and passed from this life on July 29, 1901. Francis' parents, Bernard and Catherine, were married on February 23, 1903 in Wausaukee, Wisconsin. Catherine was born on January 5, 1881 in DePere, Wisconsin. She passed from this life on January 2, 1946. Bernard, whose formal name was Bernardus, was born on September 28, 1869 in DePere, Wisconsin. He was also called Barney. He passed from this life on January 10, 1917. Catherine and Bernard rest together in peace at Evergreen Cemetery, Wausaukee, Wisconsin. While Francis was born in the United States of America, all four of her grandparents were born in the Netherlands of Europe. They were Jacoba Jacobs who was married with Carl Hermans and Petronella Verstraten who was married with Hen r i cus DeGroot, also known as Henry. 1917 was a most difficult year for Catherine, who returned both her husband and her daughter to the LORD in that year. Francis DeGroot was laid to rest with her father and passed into Heaven on March 4, 1917.

Henrietta C. Fleming, 91, Little Chute, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Parkside Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bear Creek on March 9, 1919, to the late Reinhart and Bertha (Hermans) LeNoble. Henrietta married Orville F. Fleming on May 7, 1937. He preceded her in death in November of 1986. She was a lifelong member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Henrietta liked playing cards, including Schmear, Sheepshead and Rummy 500. She was also a talented baker, embroiderer and crocheter. Henrietta enjoyed going out to eat and a good brandy Old Fashioned. She especially treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and sisters, Fran and Min.

Pfc. Joseph H. Lenoble, Kaukauna, has been posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal. On May 30 and Infantry Company was advancing along the narrow Humpback Bridge in the Philippines. Without warning the lead elements of the company were lashed by machine guns and rifle fire from well-fortified hostile strong point. Lenoble crawled 20 yards along the fire swept bridge to an exposed position and raked the hostile possession with accurate fire from his automatic rifle. This action enabled the forward element of the company to move forward and accomplish their mission. During the action Lenoble was fatally wounded.

Marcia Verstegen, 91, Little Chute, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was born May 21, 1915, in Little Chute, daughter of William and Anna (Van Eyck) Hermans. Marcia was employed at Looks Meat Market, Hanegraaf Grocery and Hillcrest Meats prior to her retirement. Through the years, Marcia provided extensive loving care for her disabled son, Richard "Ricky".
She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.
Mrs. Verstegen is survived by her son, Daniel E. (Mary) Verstegen, Little Chute; her grandson, Scott (Robin) Verstegen, Little Chute.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard; and a sister, Grace Kobussen.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006, at St. John Nepomucene Church, with Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. Monday, until the time of the mass. A memorial has been established for St. John School.

Obituary:
Evelyn Dolan, of Kaukauna, passed away February 7, 2014, after 92 amazing years. Her family was at her side to comfort her two days after she suffered a stroke. Ev was born in Wausaukee, WI on December 16, 1921 to Nellie and James DeGroot. Her family eventually moved to Kimberly and then Little Chute where Ev graduated from St John's High School. After graduation she worked for a time at a law office and Kimberly Clark.
On February 12, 1942, Ev married Jack Dolan (who preceded her in death in 1986). For the next 27 years she was Jack's partner in hard work at the family farm on Farrell Rd. There she raised and nurtured 7 children along with milking, field work, housekeeping, constant cooking, and managing finances--a true multi-tasker. Yet she still found time for the Honeycomb Homemakers' Club, leading the Nitengale 4-H Club, vegetable gardening, and remodeling the old farmhouse. She was a great cook who took pride in her delicious baked goods and putting on elaborate feasts for company and work crews.
In 1969 the farm was sold and Ev moved to Desnoyer St. in Kaukauna. She began a new career as photo finisher/inspector at Pechman Studios. Eventually she found the strength to carve a new life and home for herself as an independent woman and single parent.
After retiring in 1987, Ev finally found time for enjoying new adventures, hobbies, and her grandchildren. She travelled the country from New England to California to Disney World. She took up golf, bowling, birdwatching and card playing--staying fit with regular swim exercise & walking. She volunteered for everything, from the Food Pantry to being a poll worker. When taking care of her house became too much like the old farm chores, Ev became one of the very first residents at Canal Place Senior Housing. There she led an active social life with an open door policy among her close friends & confidants, playing cards and enjoying life on the Fox River. After she could no longer drive herself, she liked nothing better than going with friends and family for a quick "bite to eat" and drives through the countryside.
Throughout her long life, Ev was totally devoted to her faith. She was an active member of Holy Cross Church for over 70 years, sang in the Church choir, helped prepare countless Church luncheons and was Treasurer of the Ladies of Holy Cross. She attended Mass regularly until the past few months, but continued her daily prayers and reflections to her last day.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jack & his parents, daughter Mary (VanderHeiden) Skop, and son Mike Dolan. Also her sisters Eunice DeGroot, Gerry Berg & her husband Carl, brother Clayton DeGroot & his wife Jeanette, son-in-law Ron Granger, and brother-in-law Jerome Berg.
Surviving Ev are her children & their spouses James (Donna) Dolan, Colleen Granger, Dennis (Trudy) Dolan, Tom (Patti) Dolan, Tim (Wanda) Dolan and Daughter-in -law Carla Dolan. Also her dear sisters, Leone Berg and Helen DeGroot and her Grandchildren, Brian (Maureen) Granger, Kelly (Paul) Wenzel, Scott VanderHeiden, Chris (Andrew) Utrie, Michelle (Bob) Holloway, Kerry (John) Wolcott, Joe (Marie)Vandenberg, Derek (January) Dolan, Katie Eickermann, Matthew (Krista) Dolan, Tyler Dolan, Brandon Dolan and Trevor Dolan--along with 14 Great Grandchildren and many dear nieces & nephews--and Jean VanderHeiden who visited Grandma so often.
Visitation for Evelyn will be held at Holy Cross Church, 309 Desnoyer St, Kaukauna, on Saturday, February 15, from 10am to noon. Mass will follow at 12:15pm with lunch in the church basement after Mass. Future interment will be at St Patrick Cemetery in Snyderville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. Clayton DeGroot, 85, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Clayton was born on June 14, 1927 in Wausaukee, to James and Nellie DeGroot. He served in the Army Air corps during WWII. On February 14, 1950 he married Jeanette Pilon in Niagara. Clayton worked at Kimberly Clark for 40 years until his retirement. He was an avid camper for over 50 years and built his first two campers. Clayton and his wife Jeanette enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, spending their winters after retirement in the south. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and he enjoyed spending time with them, that time will always be treasured. Clayton was very inventive and his mind never stopped working, even in his later years, the inventions just got smaller. His work will be remembered in all of his children and grandchildren's houses. Clayton was a charter member of St. Thomas More.
Clayton is survived by his children: Steve (Donna) DeGroot, Gillett; Jill Karras, Seattle, WA; Glen (Dana) DeGroot, Greenville; Elaine (Jeff) Zak, Appleton; Paul (Norma) DeGroot, Appleton and Patrick (Suzy) DeGroot, Shiocton; grandchildren: Jesse (Tracy) Karras; Michelle and Shawn Zak; Lindsay and Michael DeGroot; Eric DeGroot Schreiter; a great grandchild, Wilson Zak Garrity; sister: Evelyn Dolan, Kaukauna; Leone Berg, Appleton, and Helen DeGroot, Appleton and a brother-in-law: Carlton Berg, Town of Menasha. Clayton is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeanette in 2008, and two sisters; Eunice DeGroot and Geraldine DeGroot Berg.
The memorial service for Clayton will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating at the STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL, at Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond St. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the cemetery chapel.

Karen Hermans passed away peacefully on March 6, 2017.
She was born on September 5, 1941 to Tony and Martha (Van Dyke) Hermans who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and St. Mary's School of nursing, Wausau. She was employed for many years as a registered nurse at Appleton Medical Center.
Karen is survived by one sister, Rita (John) Lehl; along with two nephews and one niece, Scott (Cheryl) Lehl, Mark (Elizabeth) Lehl, and Sarah (Christopher) Sina; ten great nephews and nieces, Ashley, Megan, Emily, Lizzie, Mark, Nicholas, Justin, Matthew, Michael, and Ethan. Karen is further survived by two great great nephews, Aiden and Parker; one great great niece, Makayla; and many cousins and friends.
Karen will be deeply missed for her love and compassion to others.

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Hansen, age 84, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014, St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. On December 15, 1929, Betty was born in Deer Creek to Cornelius and Louise (Van den Elzen) Peeters. She was united in marriage to James Hansen on November 20, 1951; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2002. Betty was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha and volunteered her time in the church, school, and the cafeteria. She loved the Packers and went to many games, including the Ice Bowl in 1967. Betty enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Shawano Lake with her family. She had a love for dancing and enjoyed Polkas and Waltzes.
Betty will be missed by her daughters: Gladys Hansen, Ann (Mike) Coughlin, Janet (Tom) Wagner; her grandchildren: April Wagner, Jamie, Michelle, and Tom Coughlin; a brother-in-law, Willis Fritz; sister-in-law, Helen Mae Peeters; and other relatives and friends.

Helen Josephine (Peeters) Mackowiak, age 78, of Manawa passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010, after a lengthy illness at Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 10, 1932, in Deer Creek WI, to daughter of the late Cornelius & Louise (VanDenElzen) Peeters. She was employed at Clintonville Glove Factory until 1955, at which time she married John Mackowiak. Together they raised six children on the family farm east of Manawa, WI. Helen was very involved with 4-H, as a leader of the Wisconsin Workers 4-H club. She worked with the lunch program at Manawa Middle School until 2002. She was a long standing member of both St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lebanon and the St. Agnes Alter Society. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, bowling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by a son, David Mackowiak, Manawa; daughters, Donna (Trent) Ellifson, Strum; Linda (Don) Sanderfoot, Appleton; Jo Ann Mackowiak, Manawa; Kris (Peter) Thompson, Manawa; sister, Elizabeth Hansen, Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Benjamin Upward, Tacoma, WA; Timothy Upward, Chippewa Falls, WI; Theresa Stevens, Colorado Springs, CO; Carl Sanderfoot, Appleton; Jessica, Allison & Alex Thompson, Manawa; great-grandchildren, Blakelyn Upward & Anna Stevens. William "Bill" C. Peeters, Sr., 72, of Navarino, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born May 27, 1943, son of the late Christian and Angarose (Wilfur) Peeters. On May 18, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Hanus at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino.
Bill graduated from Clintonville High School in 1961. Participated in the band and played on the football team.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish in Navarino. Bill and Mary Ellen farmed for 20+ years. After farming, worked at Ripley Produce, Reinhard Foods and retired from Appleton Coated Paper in Combine Locks. He enjoyed participating on pool leagues, bowling leagues, hunting including trips to Wyoming, Nebraska and Canada. Bill was well known for his chainsaw carvings, some of which he was proud to donate to local fundraisers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; children: Christine (Jerry) Raddant, Shawano; William, Jr. (Sherri) Peeters, Seymour; Mark (Terri) Peeters, Black Creek; Cheryl (David Moericke) Krum, Texas; Kelly (Cliff) Krull, Navarino; Kevin (Linda) Peeters, Pulaski; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary (Haze) Diemel, Chuck (Lori) Peeters, Pat (David) Pues and Kathy (Jerry) Senzig; numerous nieces and nephews.

Young, James J. James J. Young, age 76 years, of Clintonville, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at St. Joseph Residence, New London. James John Young was born August 23, 1931, in New London to the late Theodore and Anna Marie (Peters) Young. He was united in marriage on October 14, 1953, to Beatrice Carol Desmond at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek. The couple farmed for many years just east of Bear Creek. After selling the farm, Jim worked for Larsen's Cooperative in New London, selling seed to area farmers for over 10 years. The couple moved to Clintonville in the late 1970s. His wife, Carol, preceded him in death on March 25, 2004. Jim is a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek, and is currently a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Jim enjoyed fishing, wood crafts, gardening, watching and feeding the birds, and playing cards, especially sheepshead.
Survivors include eight children: Joan Reissmann, Neenah; Michael (Cathy) Young, Appleton; Margie Carpenter, Navarino; Marie (Rusty) Wied, Weyauwega; Shirley (Karol) Young, Madison; Frank Young, Clintonville; Steve (Jill) Young, Clintonville; Andrew Young, Appleton. Berniece V. Young, Kaukauna Wisconsin, passed away on October 14, 2017. Berniece was born on November 25, 1935 in Deer Creek, Wisconsin to Theodore and Anna (Peeter) Young. She was a graduate of Shiocton High School. On July 14, 1954 she married Ronald J. Young in Bear Creek and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2012. Together, Berniece and Ronald owned and operated R.B. Pallett Service where she worked for over 22 years until her retirement on December 1, 2006. Berniece loved to travel. In her life she was able to attend a World's Fair in Tennessee and 3 Super Bowls. She travelled to Alaska, Florida, New Orleans and Texas. For over 20 years, Berniece and Ronald made annual trips to Hawaii and she always looked forward to that trip. She also went to Guatamala, Barbados, Canada for fishing and Puerto Rico. She was a member of Irish Water and Mid Valley Golf Clubs and on March 17, 2004 she scored a hole-in-one while golfing in a foursome with Ronald and Peg and Dick O'Keefe. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.

Ervin C. Balthazor, 71, Appleton, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009, after a long illness at the Rennes Health Care Center. He was born December 19, 1937, in New London to the late Chester and Catherine (Peeters) Balthazor. Erv married Donna Bergsbaken September 12, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. He served his country in the United States Navy. Erv worked at the Neenah Foundry for 40 years retiring in 2000. He and Donna were members of St. Edward Parish for over 45 years.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Donna, Appleton; sons: Steven (Dawn), Black Creek and Richard (Sheila) Green Bay; a daughter, Diane Danley, Appleton; four grandsons: Chad, Erik and Alex Balthazor and Jacob Danley; two sisters: Genevieve (Keith) Leeman, Appleton and Clara (Nelson) Greely, Wild Rose; a brother, Clement (Karen) Balthozor, Bear Creek. He is further survived by three brothers-in-law: Lauren Spoehr, Earl Thoma and Carlton (Twila) Heideman.
Erv was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Theresa Spoehr, Beatrice Thoma and Josephine Heideman and a grandson, Kyle Danley.
Funeral services for Erv will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2009, at St. Edward Catholic Church, Mackville with Rev. Norm Krutzik officiating. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Robert L. Natrop Sr. 85, Kaukauna Wisconsin, passed away on March 20, 2014. Robert was born September 20, 1928 in Green Bay to Peter and Caroline (Hermans) Natrop. Bob was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, Class of 1946. After graduation, Bob served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. On February 27, 1954 he married the former Louise C. Smith at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Eau Claire and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He attended Marquette University and graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1952. He was employed as a Civil Engineer for the Cities of Milwaukee and Green Bay. Next, he was employed with the City of Kaukauna as City Engineer and Director of Public Works for 17 years. He ended his career as Engineer/Manager with the Heart of the Valley Sewerage District. He retired in 1991. Bob was actively involved in the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and in 2004 Bob received the exemplary service to the engineering profession, the community, and the Society of NSPE Fellow Member Award. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) made him a Charter Member. He was a representative for Wisconsin at the National Conventions for seven years. Of the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) he was the Fox River Valley Chapter President. His awards include Engineers of the year 1979, Professional Engineer in Government 1974 and 1984. Bob activities include assisting on the Fox Valley Council of Governments, Fox Valley Water Quality Agency, a Panel member on Municipal Paving problems, Public Works Problems in smaller Communities and Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association. Bob was an active member in the Kaukauna Elks Lodge 962 and the Wisconsin State Elks Association. He was the National Past District Deputy. He was honored as "Elk of the Year" in 1993. He distributed Christmas Baskets to the needy from 1962 to the present. He was President of the Kaukauna Rotary in 1989. Bob has been a volunteer member of the Kaukauna Planning and Industrial Commission from 1983 to present. At St. Mary's Church he was a parish officer and trustee from 1975 to 1982. Bob received the Kaukauna service organization Award for Community Civil Service in 2006. Bob's lifelong hobby was racing homing pigeons.
Bob is survived by his children; Diane and her daughters Kira, Makayla and Isabelle of St. Paul, MN; Robert Natrop Jr. and his partner, Vickie Verstegen of Kaukauna; Linda and Rich Reyes and their children Marc and Alexa of Newtown, CT. and Rich Jr. and his wife Sandy of Conway, SC. His sisters are Jean Schmidt of Crivitz, WI, and Carol and Joe Faust of Green Valley, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his sister Pat Cayan and her husband Bill Cayan of Green Bay, WI.

David R. Lenoble Sr., age 75, Las Vegas, died on March 14, 2016. He was born in Little Chute on March 28, 1940, son of the late Jacob and Margaret (Latza) Lenoble. David grew up in the Clintonville area. He married Carol Allen on October 4, 1958, at First Lutheran Church, Shiocton. He was an over the road trucker his entire working life. David loved hunting and watching football especially the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his children: David Jr. (Dawn) Lenoble; Laurie Lenoble; Wendy Gafford-Free and Brian Lenoble; grandchildren: Harry Gafford; Shannon; Brandy; Shane Lenoble; Sean Free and Haley Free; great-grandchildren: Kiara, Grace, Destiny, Cordella and Kelly. Brothers: Jerome (Maxine); Jacob (Margaret); Marvin (Ann); Robert (Ann); sisters Margaret (Norman) Lenz; Mary (William) Desmond; Ida Krause; and Bonnie Laux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, 3 brothers, John, Fritz and Joe and a sister Julia.

Leland M. Rollo, 74, Freedom, passed away at his residence on Saturday evening, Nov. 12, 2011, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 3, 1937, in the Town of Mukwa, son of the late Louis and Minnie Rollo. Leland was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Rodgers. He retired in 1998 after 35 years of service with Appleton Manufacturing Poly-Hi Division. On October 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to Rosemary Vickman of Wrightstown. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Lee's favorite things to do were spending time with his family and entertaining, grilling out, going to the casino, playing cards and "FISHING". His favorite saying was "If it hurts, don't do it again," which will be handed down for generations to come.
Lee is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his six children, Deborah (Dave) Olson, Mark (Michele) Rollo, Scott Rollo, Cheryl Rollo, Michelle (Darold) Howard, Tammy (Al) Techlin; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Jason (Becky) West and their children, Makennah, Hailey, and Brooke; Ryan West and his son, Carson; Matthew Rollo; Ashley (Ken) Swanson; Shaine Kaylin) Werth and their children, Brianna, Levi, and Landen; Nicholas Werth, Brandon Werth (special friend, Tierney May) and their son, Ayden Werth; T.J. Wunderlich (special friend, Ashley Jesse); Nathan (Christina) Howard and their son, Kolton; Amanda Howard; Alyx, Austin; and Alisha Techlin; his brothers and sisters, Richard (Ann) Rollo, Mary (Lee) Hietpas, Muggs (Carl) Vosters, Sr., Marguerite Rollo and Gary (Nancy) Rollo. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Judy.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, W2037 County Road S in Freedom, with Fr. David Hoffman celebrating. Full military rites by the Freedom VFW Post #7692 will follow the Mass. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna, is assisting the family, (766-2099).

Little Chute - Gary Rollo, age 68, passed on to the loving arms of our Lord on May 8, 2018 surrounded by the people he loved after a difficult battle with cancer. Gary was born on October 15, 1949 at St. Elizabeth Hospital to the late Louis and Minnie Rollo.
Gary was known as a fun-loving individual who went out of his way to provide for others. Even during his final days, he desired to make sure others were comfortable and that everyone was provided for, and that his family was well taken care of at all times. Everybody who knew Gary has a story to tell of his generosity and kindness. He could be seen many times grilling for his customers and colleagues at Morley-Murphy Company, Langstadt's Electric, and Standard Electric Supply, from where he retired as an inside salesman. Gary also loved fishing and traveling, watching the Brewers and Packers, participating in bowling and softball leagues, and spending time with his family and friends. Gary and his late wife, Nancy, spent many years later in life taking annual vacations with family and friends to Mexico, and other destinations. He was also a member of the Little Chute Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and in the Army Reserves as a young adult. Gary and family were lifelong members of St. John Parish in Little Chute, WI.
Gary is survived by his children Cory Rollo, Katie (Jeff) Bishop, and Kelly Rollo, along with his step-grandchildren Bryce and Brooklyn Bishop. He is further survived by his four brothers and sisters: Margaret (Carl) Vosters , Mary (Lee) Hietpas, and Richard Rollo, each of Little Chute, WI, and Sr. Marguerite Rollo of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross in Green Bay, WI. Gary is also survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law Rose (Leo) Rollo of Freedom, WI; Lynn Scanlan of Tucson, AZ; Neil (Margaret) Gloudemans of Fort Wayne, IN; Daniel (Linda) Gloudemans of Little Chute, WI; Mary Gloudemans M.D. of Tucson, AZ; and Michael (Denise) Gloudemans of Big Lake, MN, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, whom he all considered family and loved dearly.
Gary is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy (Gloudemans) Rollo, whom he married on July 10, 1970 and passed away on August 13, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Gary is also preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Minnie Rollo; his father- and mother-in-law, Quintin and Dorothy Gloudemans: brother, Leo Rollo: and sister-in-law, Anna Mae Rollo.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Military honors, conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258, will immediately follow. Committal St. John Cemetery. A memorial is being established.
