    Leona A. Wohlrabe, age 93, of Fremont, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. She was born on December 29, 1913, in the Town of Wolf River, WI, the daughter of the late Henry and Pauline (Zander) Bartel. On January 6, 1937, Leona married Henry Wohlrabe at St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1992. Leona was a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield, she cherished her religion and church life. Leona enjoyed growing and tending to her beautiful garden, baking and spending time with her family.
    Leona is survived by two sons: Gerald (Carol), Neenah; Jim, Fremont; a daughter, Connie (Joe) Schindelholz, Burke, VA; 11 grandchildren: Jerry (Lori) Wohlrabe, Judy(Dean)Jenner, Joan (Dan) Wintheiser, John (Corine)Wohlrabe, Lori (Ron) Wilke, Mitzi (Eric)Omit, Jamie (Theresa) Wohlrabe, Dave (Dawn) Haertl, Dan (Jenny) Haertl, Joseph Schindelholz, Steven Schindelholz, Alicia Jenner and Alison Jenner; 22 great-grandchildren: Tara, Aaron, Joshua, Megan, Brett, Candy, Rick, Alisha, Justen, Heide, Tanya, Adam, Shanna, Aeryn, Randy, Mishca, Sarah, Rebeca, Tyler, Hannah, John and Rose; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Vernice Bartel, Neenah, and Edna Bartel, Fremont; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by four sisters, and six brothers.
    Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. Rev. Gerhard Schapekahm will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A Memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church.
    Leona's family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Medical Center, Crystal River Nursing and Rehab Center, and Welcome Home as well as Pastor Schapekahm for all of their care and compassion during this time.

    Hilda E. Ritschke, age 91, of Fremont, died on Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Hilda is now enjoying eternity with Jesus. She was a great example to others for always being a kind and content woman. Hilda was born on May 16, 1916, in the Town of Wolf River, the son of the late Henry and Paulina (Zander) Bartel. On October 19, 1940, Hilda married Ray Ritschke in East Bloomfield. Together they owned and operated Ritschke's Boat Landing in Orihula from 1933-1978. Ray preceded her in death on April 1, 2000. Hilda was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in New London. She also loved nature and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
    Hilda is survived by a son, Russell (Kirsti), Omro; three granddaughters: Erica, Jessica and Amy; a sister, Leona Wohlrabe, Weyauwega; two sisters-in-law: Vernice Bartel, Neenah and Edna Bartel, Fremont, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers, including her twin brother, Elmer.
    Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at 11 a.m., at St John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. Rev. Gerhard Schapekahm will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont on Wednesday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and on Thursday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church.
    Hilda's son and daughter-in-law would like to say Thank You to the staff at Omro Care Center and Mercy Medical Center for all of their compassionate care.

    Werner H. Bartel, age 87, of Neenah, formerly of Fremont, died on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Vallhaven Care Center in Neenah. Werner was born on March 25, 1919, in the Town of Wolf River, Winnebago County, WI, the son of the late Henry and Pauline (Zander)Bartel. On June 28, 1941, Werner married Vernice Schoenick at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, WI. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Lonnie, Danny and Gale, as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Together they farmed on the family homestead in Metz until 1970. They then moved to Neenah where Werner worked for the Neenah Foundry for 26 years, retiring on March 18, 1982. Werner was a life-long member of St John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield where he also served on the school board for a time. Werner enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, walking in the woods, picking blackberries, and hunting squirrel with the grandchildren he loved so much.
    Werner will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years, Vernice; a son, Gale, Fremont, four grandsons: Randy and Rick Bartel, Weyauwega and Eric and Cory Bartel, Fremont; two sisters: Leona Wohlrabe, Weyauwega; Hilda Ritschke, Omro; three sisters-in-law, Edna Bartel, Fremont; Lucinda Loehrke, King; Evelyn(Vernon)Tesch, Neenah; two daughters-in-law: Judy Schumann, Weyauwega; Gail Bartel, Neenah; a great-grandson, Drew; two great-granddaughters: Sydney and Daesha; two stepgrandchildren: Rachel and Brian, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    Werner was preceded in death by two sons: Lonnie and Danny; four brothers: Harold, Elmer, Henry and Marvin; three sisters: Erna (William) Oestriech, Cora (Vernon) Zabel and Gertrude (Harvey) Priebe; two infant grandchildren: Timmy and Destiny; three brothers-in-law: Norman Loehrke, Ray Ritschke, and Henry (Felix)Wohlrabe.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at 11 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. Rev. Gerhard Schapekahm will officiate. Burial will be in East Bloomfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from 9:30 until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church.
