    Gerald "Jerry" Ziemer, 75, died at his home on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007. He was born in Appleton on Jan. 15, 1932, to the late Charles and Esther (Bellin) Ziemer. Jerry enjoyed hunting, golfing, watching the Packers and especially enjoyed playing with his dog, Freddie, and granddaughter, Cherise.
    Jerry is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patti; daughter, Brenda (John) Van Handel, Hatley; a granddaughter, Cherise; mother-in-law, Lolamae Van Wyk; sisters-in-law, Cathy Trujillo (Scott Downing), Lorrie (Mike) Kohl, Lynn (Richard) Robinson, Vicki (Pete) Picard, Terri (Mark) Vander Steen, Jill (Jody) Mansfield, Wendy (Dennis) Looker, Debbie (Peter) Sturn, Esther Ziemer; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also survived by special friends, Dave (Flo) Wall, Gene (Robin) Rosin, Sue McBride and Mary Vazquez.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Curtis Lee Van Handel; two brothers, Donald and Kevin Ziemer; and father-in-law, Robert Van Wyk.
    Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Murken officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
